Great review. I didn't even know this was a thing. I got the bobovr M2 already. But listen brother, you made me feel stupid. I was thinking oh great another wire to the battery bank. But you put a charging cable through the coiled cable... Well I thought it was brilliant and realized I am missing some brain cells lmao! Thanks for the review!
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you got that fingered out. It does work out well. The good news is, now that they've released the M2 PRO with interchangeable battery packs, the same hook-up works, since the PRO has a cable from the pack to headset, but also has a two-way C port you can run to the F2!

Holy crap that battery you have on the back is MASSIVE! lol How many mAh is that thing?
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
It's 30k mAH. It weighs 1.4 pounds, which is the original reason I got it. It's the perfect balance for the 1.2 pound headset. You may think it would be too heavy, but in reality it makes the whole balanced rig feel quite weightless. My wife has an identical rig, and also loves it.

Not only is the fan good the facial interface is the best I have used. Zero light bleed……absolutely zero.

Right! And even if you take out the nose piece (it's removeable), there's still very little light leak. I find the airflow is even better without the nose part.

Good video Dave! I keep my add-ons to a minimum but I think this Bobo f2 is a must for me. I have a separate question though. You said you had prescription inserts for lenses. I wear Progressives w a little bit of magnification for far and a lot for near. How do you know which magnification to order? FPS games get hard when you can't see those young fellas shootin at ya!
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
The F2 is a good product and does a fine job of eliminating lens fogging. The main thing to understand about the optics in VR is that the lenses "trick" your eyes into thinking they are focusing at 6 feet (2 meters). The only part of your prescription needed is the one for that distance. You'll need a copy of your current prescription, and when you send that to the guys at Reloptix, they will take it from there. If you have specific questions or concerns, they have a live chat feature where you can talk to the person who will be making your lenses, who can walk you through the entire process. Ask for Jason, and tell him I sent you!

Looks like the F2 is off the market already. Or maybe it’s just sold out everywhere. I wanted to ask you about how you’ve got your battery pack hooked up and attached. I just ordered the M2 strap. Can you give me the details or refer me to a video that shows it?
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
The F2 is just out of stock. The poor guys at BOBO VR had no idea how wildly popular my video would be, and just didn't make enough of those puppies! When I used the Halo, I had the pack attached with Velcro. Now that I have the M2, it is tricky, so I turned to the guys at Tyco Tech and got a great mount made just for that strap. They even custom made me one to fit my monster battery! There are videos for all this right here on my channel... kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3rGg2lqlpiofrM kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaavlJebZteqgMU kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKvXe2V7o7-sf9k Let me know what you think, and please subscribe so my channel will grow!

Does the f2 facial interface have velcro to attach aftermarket face pads like the vrcover?
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does. I have seen reports of people using various other pads on it. If it's Velcro backed, you can put it on, and have the best of both worlds!

Are there any issues using the Reloptix lenses with the facial interface provided with the Bobovr F2?
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
Nope, none at all. I've never tried an interface that interfered with the Reloptix lenses. (And I've tried a bunch!)
@OkiDingo3 жыл бұрын
Do those ear things actually work?
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
Oh, yes. I never take 'em off! They effectively double the volume of the built-in speakers. They also cut about half the sound that escapes the headset, if you're trying not to bother someone. One thing to mention, these are not made for the Halo style straps like the M2 I use. I modified them for both the M2 and standard halo style straps. There's a video about the mod, and a bunch of other stuff right here on my channel! Make sure to subscribe! Here's a link to the muffs I use: amzn.to/2UBlMQZ

Is your rig not heavy with m2 and f2 and battery aswell ?
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
Thank for your question. I have found that the weight of the rig is not really the issue, it's the balance. I use a fairly heavy battery pack, weighing 1.4 pounds, and for reasons apart from the 3-4 day play time between charges. The Quest 2 headset alone weighs in at 1.2 pounds, so the balance is perfect. It gives a surprisingly "weightless" feel to the rig as a whole. I've tested researched quite a bit, and find this to be the perfect set-up. There's a video called "The Perfect Rig 2" here on my channel that details all the accessories I use.

Any issues with the face interface being loose and coming out easily and not staying snapped in? One of the early Amazon reviews mention that as a problem.
@DaveDrawing3 жыл бұрын
I played with it nonstop for almost four hours, and have been using it for several days since shooting the video, and it's not given me any trouble. All interfaces can easily be clipped in wrong, you just need to make sure it's in properly to begin with. Thanks for the comment!

@@bcampbell81 so do you like it 1 months later? im planning to buy it
@bcampbell813 жыл бұрын
@@Bos_Meong I have purchased 2 of these. One for each of the OQ2 in the family. The first one was good. The facial interface snapped in except on the bottom left corner will come unsnapped pretty easy but not a big deal once you get it on your face. The fan works well to prevent fogging and isn't too loud. I find that the padding has a little bit of a sharp edge around it that can feel like its digging into your face if not positioned just right. The second one was junk. I sent it back. The facial interface would not stay snapped into the OQ2 headset at all. I returned it. The concept is great. The execution and finish is mediocre. If everything snapped in properly, this would easily be a 10/10 product. In my experiences it is a 8/10 if you get a good one or a 1/10 if you get one that doesn't snap in properly.

@@DaveDrawing in your video editing software, look for pan/balance settings. If you can't find any, look for options to change the sound from stereo to mono. If you can't find either option, once you're done editing, go to export the video, but choose something like .wav or .mp3 so that it just exports the audio. Then download audacity, which is free audio editing software. In audacity, open the audio and either adjust the balance there, or switch the track to mono. Then you can export it as a .wav and drop it back into your video editor. Make sure you delete or mute the original audio, and make sure the new audio is synced up. Then export your video as normal. No mic upgrade needed. I hope this helps, because I admire what you're doing ;)
