The sets are absolutely out of print. If you find one cheaply, BUY IT. I bought mine back when they first came out. Didn't regret it. You won't either....unless you don't speak Japanese or English. There's no censorship on these DVDs, but there are no edits and no subtitles. If you don't have the cash, the dvds were ripped and uploaded on anime streaming sites.

The planets aligned for this dub to be the greatest anime dub of all time, one of the few dubs that I like to watch unironically. One of the few dubs that catches the same nature of the original while having a few more jokes to push the comedy to the forefront, it is truly... A masterpiece.

You know, I know a lot of this show's success in the English dub comes down to the fantastic voice acting, but there's one character who often sounds off to me: Beauty. Basically, it often sounds like someone rolled two different forms of the audience surrogate (one who is constantly freaked out about the ridiculous things going on around them, and one who snarks about it) into one, but had the voice actress constantly in the first state. For example, listen to when she reacts to seeing Sad Sack at 0:30; "When they ask paper or plastic, I know your answer!" reads as sarcastic in my head, and I think someone shocked with disbelief at something like this would not be in a state to make jokes like that. Try reading that bit as two separate lines from different characters, one sarcastic/mocking and one exasperated/shocked, and it seems to flow a lot better: *sigh* "Yare yare daze.. When they ask paper or plastic, I sure know your answer.” 🙄😏 *Or:* “When they ask paper or plastic, I sure know your answer! Bwahahaha!” >w< xD "ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BE SCARED? THESE TWO ARE LOSERS! This is one of the reasons Beauty was one of the more unpopular characters in the show. Oddly enough, I feel like the actress's over the top reactions, even when she's being witty or sarcastic, is more a testament to how the character is animated in the show, rather than the direction or writing intended. You see it in a few scenes here or there. She's capable of being sensible, but a lot of these scenes are animated the way the manga wanted to convey commentary, which is awkward, because it just looks like the characters are screaming at everything. That's just how Shonen anime are written, and this show is founded on exaggerating anime tropes 100 fold.
