So. . this "god" who made the universe and the earths . . . can't or won't cure anything like cancer . . and allows genius people to die like Bob . . equally . . allows people to live like Hitler. His followers, come out with so many different excuses . . "He wants to test us" "He allows us to chose our path" lol. Fact is . . HE created the universe and this planet bad. . . then wants us to repent his own work?? lol . . this God either is a total idiot or . . more scientifically . . has never existed. The guy sits on a cloud listening to 7 billion people pray . . then does nothing . . because he created it in the first place. Come on people. This is 2018. Cavemen invented gods when we only had stones for tools. If you still believe in prehistoric gods in today's age . . you need to visit a psychiatrist.

I started painting a little over 4 years ago at age 66. I wasn't familiar with Bob Ross at all.I began coming across his name and learned he painted with oil so didn't watch any of his videos on you tube. One evening about 6 months ago I saw that 'The Joy of Painting' had been added to the weeknight lineup and decided to watch. I was hooked within the first 10 minutes. Even though he painted with oil there is much that can be applied to painting with acrylics and I learn something every time I watch. The man was a national treasure.

Yes we do miss Bob terribly. So sad that his life here was cut short. His legacy lives on in this realm, so in that respect He also lives on! Another thing that saddened me the other day was that i went into a local Michaels store to buy some new brushes and there was not one single Bob Ross item on their shelves, nothing ! I'm a now 61 year old man but, i felt like crying right then and there! Not that i cant find his stuff in michaels , but that they and obviously a lot of his followers have started the process of casting him aside. Thankfully Bob Ross products are (at least for the present ) still available elsewhere on sites like ebay and amazon maybe.

A great end to the season :) There is a lot of warm Fall colors in this painting, and the night-time feel is certainly there. Though I will say Bob could have easily painted the top half of the canvas with that blue if he knew it would only show that top half of it anyway in the background ^^ Nonetheless the grass has a nice spectrum of colors and tones, with green and orange and colors in between. The trees are lovely with their vast array of reds and oranges, it makes for an incredible forest. And the center of attention, the cabin, looks cute and lovely with its long roof and bright window all lit up. Another fine painting for us all to enjoy~ *_I hope you enjoyed reading my Happy Little Review~_*

i think the reason he painted the bottom half with blue as well( as putting dark colours on it) was to show the light colours on top better. I Noticed he does that in a lot of videos. It also adds a "tint" of blue like in less sunshine and darkness falling.

All the years that I’ve been watching Bob Ross I’ve tried to give him a name for the craft that he displays and I’m sure people will agree with the name...Van Gogh with the Fro! On behalf of all the people that watches Bob Ross along with me...thank you for the time you had on earth creating heaven on earth...thank you. Now you enjoy the Real Heaven...my brother.

"The Mad Trees" sounds like a great name for a band haha 🌳🎶 I love the episodes where he would switch it up with the dry canvases.

This episode aired the day I was born ❤️ loved watching him as a little girl and I have a new love as an adult. My mother was an artist and she loved watching and painting along with him. I never could understand how she got the right colours so fast though, there was no pause button back then! How did they do it lol? Anyone else think about that?

Me. I don't get how they kept up either. not only did you have to mix the colors at the same time with him but you had to look up and see what he was doing and then do it yourself. Then there's something like today's painting where he does something in advance so you have to do all of that before you can start and he's meanwhile is halfway done. How do you do that without having the ability to either pause or reverse.

When my dog shakes his head his ears whacking his head is the same sound as the brush hitting the legs of the easel when he cleans the brush. Bob Ross is sadly missed and was a great talent.

It’s wonderful that Bob’s work is still so popular after all this time. What a talented yet humble man, so different to the loud, crass ‘celebrities’ of today. I think part of Bob’s charm was that he probably never considered himself a celebrity.
