I definitely wish that he was still here! I am taking classes from a certified Bob Ross painting instructor, and hopefully, I can soon master these techniques as well! I've already created six different compositions of my own. Learning from a trained B.R. instructor is an absolute great way to develop your artist's 'eye!'

The way he would so haphazardly random he would move the brush across the canvas never ceases to amaze me. Once he finished a painting, it all looked so carefully deliberate, as if he had spent ages carefully drawing out every detail. If I tried this, I'm pretty sure it would look like a big messy blob with no definition, rhyme or reason. Bob was a genius and so very talented.

Bob had the right combination of genetics/environmental upbringing to become an inspiring leader. It must have been very rewarding for him to see people all around the country adopting his style of painting. I love it when Bob ripped into MoMA. I had an art professor in college who suggested to us students that we attend some event at MoMA but added that we had to buy tickets for it. We looked online at ticket prices for the event she talked about, and they were like $500/person. We were like “F**k that!”
