Today’s world needs this man back. When I was about 9 or 10 (‘79-‘80), I would hangout with the neighbor kid. His mom liked to paint. Sometimes I would pause our juvenile activities and stop to watch Mr. Ross paint. He mesmerized me with his speed, and creativity and kind and gentle demeanor. Quickly making a few obscure lines into an amazing landscape in no time. Absolutely amazing. Thank you, Mr. Ross.

When I fell down (as small children quite often do) she told me 'It is ok, don't cry. Come here and I will pick you up' By the time I have gotten to her she was all smiles and said 'See that? You did it all by yourself, you picked yourself up:)' and, 'You can do anything you want' and gave me a big hug. Whenever I hear that "You can do whatever you want, this is your world", I really never cared, just bob ross being bob ross. But when I started painting after someone told us the rules of art, like the golden ratio, the 'never use primary colors', what colors matches with what, and the must of paintbrushes... I never really felt like it's my world. I'm painting under someone's rules and I disliked painting because I thought it would never be enough because I always fail with the rules. Then, I watched one ' ONE ' Bob Ross painting and it was my first time being contented with my painting. The ratio felt right, I mixed colors based on what I see in my mind and thus never used a raw primary color and so on. It just felt right. It's my painting. I think the reason why Bob Ross kept telling us this phrase is because screw the rules, as a human, you will always consider the natural flow of art, which is based from nature. You can't follow the golden ratio, the golden ratio follows you, because it's your world.

F#$@ing LEGEND!!! Just goes to show you *don't* need thousands of dollars worth of art supplies to create something beautiful. Only bob could have made a museum worthy masterpiece in under 25 minutes while simultaneously making it seem like a blind person could do it with ease
@lisasartworkdotcom3 жыл бұрын
That's not entirely true. Bob learned this technique (wet on wet or more accurately it's the alla prima technique) through his mentor William Alexander. Sadly, though they started out as good friends somehow their relationship soured as Bob's fame grew. BUT it was Bill Alexander who taught Bob how to paint to quote you "a museum worthy masterpiece" in under 25 minutes. Bill spent years perfecting the use of a large brush working wet paint into wet paint. In fact just about everything that people think is exclusively Bob Ross came from William Alexander. Business model, techniques, products even the phrase "happy little tree" originated from Bill. Bob just took everything tho and made it more popular than Bill ever did. Maybe that is why they had a falling out.

This is probably one of the most creative and full paintings in the entire season ! We get to see how Bob makes those backgrounds that he sometimes does in advance, and we get to see how even makes the trees that go in the very distance. I absolutely love what he did with the colors having most of the canvas be blue and painting a lot of warm colors to contradict the blues. And the rays of sunlight are the best rays of sunlight I've ever seen Bob drawn the entire series ! I'm times you just don't need a picture with a mountain or cabin or a Pinetree, sometimes you just need a painting of a forest deep, deep in the woods. This is where all the animals were truly live. I honestly find this to be the best painting in the season. *_Thank you for reading my Happy Little Review~_*
