Hi teacher Bob! 🖐️😎 The knowledge, skills and practicality of doing odd jobs seem to have been there in your childhood. Your grandparents must have been proud to have a grandson like you. Thank you for your wonderful lessons that contain more information/meaning than meets the eye and for your guidance with your good character. I am proud to have such a good teacher. 🤗 Have a great day! Bye 👋😊🌹💐♥️

Thanks a lot for the lesson, Bob! Indeed, people have become less trusting of each other. Even the most honest of men, Bob the Canadian, cannot fill his tank without prepayment. What's the world coming to? 😱

Thanks for the shout-out🤝 Pre-pay system exists along with the "trusting" system here (which I like better, of course). But, it's par for the course😊for me to say"Full tank, please" and voilà))) I chatted about doing odd jobs with my wife. Since I prefer doing them by myself (saves a bit of money for the family budget) I'm used to keeping different tools at home( from simple screwdrivers and hammers to monkey wrenches-thanks for the "Tools lesson"🥰) So, we're kinda surprised by some of our friends who can't even change light bulbs😁😁😁 Stay comfy, Bob!❤

When each of my kids goes to university I buy them a small tool set: multihead screwdriver, small hammer, tape measure, small level, etc. They think I'm strange but end up thanking me a few months later when they end up helping someone because they were the only ones with tools! 😎💧💦

At the beginning of your video I was kind of fascinated by the slightly pink plant ball behind the hydro pole in the background, Bob 😎. (I was wondering what kind of plant/flower this is.) Someone really expressed their creativity here. Then I noticed that almost always every patch of green in your videos is nice and neatly mowed or trimmed 😘. It seems like a lot of time is spent on lawn care where you live. Thanks for the new lesson, Bob. Have a wonderful day. 🏡💚🌳

@@bobsshortenglishlessons That would be cool, Bob 😘. It would be interesting to see what they look like up close. Now that I've seen them on your big channel too, I think it's actually a great idea of your town to hang them up 🌟. I think they add to the already pleasant, (calm) and friendly atmosphere that your town has. In any case, I say thank you in advance, Bob. Take care and don't let yourself get stressed. 🍁💛🏡

It is par for the course! Finally it is a phrase I have not heard of so often . I know the phrase " it is up to par ". Is this a kind of phrase similar to the first one? When I drove across Belgium then I ran across such gas stations where someone had to pre-pay. Longer process hence you have to go in beforehand and maybe afterward too if you could not put the required pre-paid amount into your tank and you wanted to get the proportioned money back. I am also between jobs but it is usual. Thank you for the video and have a good weekend.

Thank you Bob , reminded how I learned the pre pay lesson back in the 90's young , far from home and lost with my school english.And how scared I was to get my money refunded if there wouldn't have been enough space in the fuel tank😅. In Germany though you can still pay when your done but as more and more people are leaving without having paid I don't know if they'll change the System here too🤔. Have a great weekend 🌞

In my town, there is a system where you pay after filling up with gas at a convenience store attached to a gas station. Is it safe because it is Japan? When I think about it, it's amazing that no trouble has occurred. (Sorry if it's weird as it was written with a translator)

It's always good to be capable of doing some tweaking around the house. Sometimes it just breaks the bank to call someone in to fix something for you. I think I'm a jack of all trades, but I don't have a way with electronics, though.😂
@bobsshortenglishlessons4 ай бұрын
It certainly is cheaper to fix things yourself. I'm the same way for certain things, but plumbing is something where I always call someone. I don't want to accidentally flood the house! 😎💧💦

Your cars sound strange 🎼More like a motorcycle with a failing exhaust 🙂 My way to pay at the gas station: Paying cash (of course by card, too), taking a snack and coffee at the cashier 🙂 Doing some useless small-talk about the weather and how expensive the fuel is right now. Leaving the gas-station and recognizing, that I forgot to drop of the parcel, that I wanted leave at the gas station. Seems like out gas-stations are quiet different. Especially the coffee is something I would miss a lot.
