Nightcore used to have actual remixes of a sped up song . Now people settle for "chipmunk version " because it's just easier to make .

most of the songs just sped up to 2 times the speed don't have chipmunk voice. somebody made this comment on sabaton's final countdown and i pointed out that that song actually sounded like a person singing it AFTER it was sped up, before it was just too slow and gravelly to be called a song. if anything some songs with the true sabaton format sound that way. if they raise the pitch for an already high pitched or even just medium pitched song then yes it will sound chip munked.
