I'll be the odd one out. It was the music that flipped the switch to open the case of my dad's old HB-35 and pick my way through the chorus of Wasurete Yaranai. The warmth and fullness of the Chorus B (the A-octaves on the 5th fret) just sung out to me and my brain told me "You need to play this". The more that I've listened to the songs, the more I hear the small intricacies and love that the composers put into the music. The lead lines in the verses that differ in Verse 2, the diversity in chord structures, the pentatonic scale showing up EVERYWHERE. The more I look, the more interesting the music gets. If i may be so bold, I think that's why Kessoku Band's music (composed by wonderful artists) drew me to actually playing an instrument moreso than Houkago Tea Time's music did. Don't get me wrong, i cried the first few times i heard Tenshi ni Fureta Yo, but the music itself just wasn't quite as interesting. So thank you to the entire production team, the writers, animators, composers, artists, and other parties involved for delivering this show. Drawing more people into music is the best gift you can give anyone.

I started playing guitar when I was 6 years old and I got pretty good until I stopped playing at about 11. I watched Bocci the Rock when I was 16 which really made me think of how much time I had wasted over the years not practicing. I decided I wasn’t going to sit around any longer and I got back to practicing. I spent a few weeks remembering how to play and after that I decided to go all in on not just guitar, but improving my physical and mental health. I took an advanced music theory class at my school and learned some production outside of school. I graduated with honors and got into most of my top choice schools. I turned 18 not too long ago and I’ve never felt better in my entire life. For those who made the same mistake I did, remember, you can’t go back and change how you started, you can start where you are and change the ending. Best of luck to you all ❤️

Anime brings new air into old hobbies, and its a great thing About 9 years ago, the World Series of Mahjong had its first english broadcast. The broadcast commentators were grown men that really had no interest in anime or manga, but they did spend a good bit air time talking about how Saki and Akagi played a huge role in bringing westerners to mahjong and recommended watchers to check it out. A few years ago, Uma Musume also brought a huge boom in interest in japanese horse racing too. The association behind japanese horse racing also acknowledged the new youth into their sport thanks to the anime, and the retired horses are also benefitting from it they've been getting huge support from people visiting and donating to their retirement farms.

After years of acoustic guitar I started electric guitar as a teenager because of the anime "Angel Beats". Even my guitar choice was because of the singer/rythm-guitarist from the band in the anime. Back then there were not many good tabs online or anime-music guitarists on youtube. So I learned the song by watching frame for frame the chords in the series and tried to fill in the gaps by myself. Then a few years later I played for ~1 year in my highschool-band and we gave short concerts in our school, local bars and small festivals close to our hometown. Despite we had nearly nothing in common aside from the music it was a great time. After that I nearly stopped playing guitar for ~8 years. Then Bocchi the Rock happened. Since then I'm back in, found a very nice guitar teacher and working on to become skilled enough again to play in a band 😄

This is easily one of my favorite series, not just in anime, but in any medium. Bocchi is one of the most relatable characters for people who struggle with anxiety, and even mental illness in general. She makes me feel understood. That's by design, because Aki Hamaji (the creator) was apparently writing from personal experience. Knowing that such a relatable character was a self-insert by the author just makes me appreciate it even more. BTR is one of those shows that acknowledges that you have the power to rise above whatever struggles you deal with. Sometimes you'll need someone to help you up, and there's no shame in that. Everyone struggles, and you're not alone.

bocchi the rock is the only anime ive watched (i'll probably watch more but this was really recent) and immediately, well after "literally me" the second bocchi was introduced was how fun the concept of the series was, that is a decent show with good story and writing and all that but animated, and way more friendly looking than anything with real actors, and being someone not good at socialising, the few friends i have being simply those i have to be near and turns out theyre super chill and extraverted enough to start conversations and make up for my social ineptitude, and being someone who plays guitar, not too seriously but ive been playing a ot more since, it all felt so hopeful and real to me, so ive been playing a lot more, got a new guitar, ive gone outside occasionally for the first time in a while (apart of school, that is) and in general i feel like im doing a lot better now. im not perfect, i still havent gotten past most of the introversion holding me back but i want to keep playing guitar, getting better and maybe build up the courage to perform somewhere at some point

Unfortunately a few weeks later i had to focus on my studies and alot of depression which killed the drive to learn telecaster that ive bought. Now that im free, for now at least, hopefully i have time to pick up my guitar and have a go at it again, still have some songs left over and a bit more from the girls band cry project which got me in again. Hopefully this time around ill use all that self hatred to learn this lil guy

But without Bocchi, I wouldnt become a person who I am today who would pursue my passions to prove that I have a skill and I can make people proud of who I am. Bocchi is one of my favorite characters. As a musician, i can relate to her. even if i cannot completely relate to her, it’s a little. Im usually really quiet at school, i never told anyone i play the bass and drums unless they ask. I always upload covers of anime songs to youtube so i can see my own improvement after many years. I never ask or told people to watch my videos since i thought doing youtube was “cringe.” I was in school jazz band just so i could get better at bass and not anything else. Or so i thought. In my senior year i would spend most of my time in the band room, whether it’d be free period, lunch, or after school. I would just spend my time in there practicing songs i love playing. My dream in high school was to play a song by an artist i love at my last concert of high school, during that time was Study Me by Zutomayo. But i couldnt bc people i know dont have the same music taste as me, i love j pop/rock, while other musicians are more into either funk, rock and roll, or metal. I never liked american music bc i always find them boring and too easy, except funk. During that time i was watching bocchi too, and seeing how she developed as a character really motivated me to look for piano, drum, and a synth player for the song i want to play. Eventually I found them, luckily i found one of the best piano player in school, who happens to really like my bass playing, and was probably my first fan 💀. Study Me is a very difficult song for bass and piano player, but i already know how to play it on bass, and i have a very good piano player, which made this dream possible to achieve before i graduated. Bocchi saved me from having any regrets in high school. i didnt have a lot of friends, or went to prom, or homecoming, but i did get to play a song i love at my last school concert before i graduated. Which was the only thing i really care about.

Has a little bit similar (not exactly and entirely) plot, amazing original music performed by the in story plot. This anime is old, with plain/flat dialogues (considering anime in general). But the stress on live music, the hardships of a band and the plot hooked me. I finished reading and completing the manga after the single season got over. I only wish Beck anime got a second and recurring seasons or a new adaptation. Now I'll go and check out Bochhi the Rock now!

I suffer from anxiety and depression, I'm trying to better myself but it's hard. I was always interested in music, i mostly listen to rock and metal, but I never actually attempted to start learning the guitar. Things changed after i started watching Bocchi, it's not a stretch to say that this anime saved me in many ways. I've watched this show right after it stopped airing, with a friend of mine (we don't talk anymore tho, sadly..). Right after i started watching it i felt like this anime portrayed everything i fell, i immediately fell in love with show and the music. I started taking guitar lessons soon after, and while I don't feel happy and I'm still as depressed as i could ever be, it's different now: I'm leaving my house a little bit more and doing something actually productive, so I feel like I'm starting to improve. Next year my guitar teacher said that I'll have enough skill to play with other students of my music school, so things are going good. I can't stop thinking about BTR, I'm glad that it exists and that it gave me the push to start doing something with my life. If whoever is reading this also suffers from the things that I do, just remember that there are people that care about you: you are so special and I appreciate you❤

During the pandemic, I was learning to play guitar after several years of stopping my piano lessons. So after a long time of listening to different music genres, I decided to get back into music with the guitar. When this show came out, I thought nothing much of it when I saw the trailer for it and put it aside. But after the 6th episode came out, I decided to pick it up. After watching up to where the latest episode aired, I was motivated even more to learning to play guitar, and even took out my old electric guitar that I had stashed away in my closet. I was a red Fender Squier that my parents bought from a friend a long time ago, and I decided to change the strings and clean it up. I then added some stickers to it and even added a Bocchi the Rock sticker to commemorate the fact that the show motivated me to play guitar. Now I'm also learning to play drums and even started practicing to make video game music in a university course I took this year, and hopefully make my own music in the future, both digitally and with my instruments

Ikuyo Kita's (Bocchi) story is not an arc that is limited to musicians. It's a story of many artists from other disciplines. Those on the path of the fabled "10,000 hours" can be a lonely journey because to become "that good" takes sacrifice that peers and sometimes family just don't get it. The series is a love letter to those who put in those 10,000 hours to be "that good".

Bassically this is like my story how i picked up a guitar After watching bocchi the rock i have a little spark for playing a guitar, i have absolutely no experience playing it a complete begginner. But after a week i decided that i wanted to play the guitar, and it just so happen that my Father have an old acoustic guitar of his, its a classical guitar but i dont know why my father put a steel string to a nylon guitar made my first 3 months a hell of practicing the guitar especially barre chords with the damn steel string and because of that the neck is a little bent too. My first 3 months are just watching youtube tutorials and learning for Justinguitar. After that hellish 3 months with that classical steel damn string guitar, i have decided to buy my first ever electric guitar, it was a les paul. I honestly almost bought a telecaster but the Les paul cuaght my attention because of the tone by the humbucker + i just found out that in my time searching for my first electric guitar that bocchi used a les paul model guitar so that made me my final choice. Convincing my parents to bought the guitar was easy though and honeslty i felt lucky that day. After i got my Les paul i was soo damn happy, felt like i got a new toy. I practiced and practiced everyday, after school i picked her up And practice. After graduated from my junior high school, i go to high school and later found out that they have a Band club, and so i was like why not give it a shot, and then i joined in. It was an amazing experience joining a band in my school i actually got to perform live at my school festival though i only have 1 live perform experience but it was cool, but everybody 1st time isnt always perfect and yes i did messed up some. My bandmates are like awesome dude i was the only junior there and the rest are all senior even though me and my bandmates have different taste in genres but damn playing other music genres are fun too. Not only that i learned some new genres but i also learned how to play a bass just by watching my senior playing it, honestly if you can play guitar you can transfer you guitar skill to bass, and no i dindt play with a pick. The thing is BTR changed my life dude i wont be even have these amazing experience if i dindt watched BTR now i have been playing for 13 months and still consistent practicing. For those of you who want to play the guitar, do it. ( sorry if theres like some spelling mistakes or just bad grammar lol)

In Albania we have a saying: "show me your friends and I'll show you who you are". While Bocchi inspired me to learn guitar, I also picked up her extreme character somehow. Like I've unconsciously grown severely anxious around people; sometimes shivering when I have to talk to someone. Of course I'm a little shy by default too, just not that shy. I would only partly attribute that to an anime, but I think when holding a person or character to such a high regard, you begin to pick up their behaviour as well. Maybe I should have been more cautious 😅.

I am the quiet kid with few friends, spend all his time indoor and have a giant obsession with just anything guitar in general. So this anime sometimes resonates too much with who I am. And I think this anime is meant to be for people who play guitar.

There are 12 episodes, but PLEASE watch the sub version. The original voice actors do SUCH a good job. As for where to watch, its on chrunchyroll and some other anime websites.

@@themaskedcreatorxs Thank you very much for the kind and fast replay. I have found the first episode, and yes it has just subtitles. Will see if I will find the entire serie. Namaste p.x.: is cruchyroll for free??

…wait YOU TALK!?!?!!!? Jk Yeah I’m writing my j rock styled track and found a drummer on Reddit and lit my bass and guitar track on fire. Kikuri is my goddess lol and inspired the whole thing. Thanks BTR for also kicking my ass too! I’ve also released my own EP on band camp called ForRest!
