Bocchi the Rock has a special place in my heart. It helped me get through a rough time in my life, and as a result it motivated me to play guitar again. You could say that Bocchi the Rock changed my life for the better. Last year, I finally saved up enough cash and bought the Les Paul Custom directly from Gibson. I was surprised to find out that out of sheer coincidence, the certification date of my Les Paul Custom was on my birthday! Bocchi also has the same birthday month as I do, too. I overall love the Les Paul Custom. While it does indeed have its own quirks and oddities, I can't help but smile each and every time I play it. It's a part of me I can't let go of. Bocchi speaks deeply to me, I think it speaks to any 30+ guitar player who spent his teenage years locked in his room playing more guitar alone than having human interactions and witnessing the birth of KZbin with people like Jerry C, wishing to play that good and be seen on the internet. The Ano Bando song specially is a banger with those lyrics and it makes me feel quite emotional. "I close my eyes there's a halo in the darkness I cover my ears there's a steady beating pulse within Deep in my chest my heart makes my body sway I don't want to hear anything else Nothing but the sounds I'm making" Congratulations on your Les Paul, I almost bought one that looked like this 8 or so years ago but in the end I got a PRS clone from a Korean brand as my H-H mahogany axe, still have it.

In the anime, it was left ambiguous if it was a reissue or not, but the in the manga it is clear that she is using a reissue due to the pickguard design, I think from the 70s but not 100% sure. She uses a jcm900 amp for the school festival show. And the amp she uses at the Starry doesn't look like jcm800 because of the imput jack, the jcm800 has two, while the Starry amp has one. I am not too familiar with marshall amps so I don't know what model the Starry uses. Although I know Kita uses a Roland JC120 with a foot switch to activate the inbuilt chorus that wasn't animated for some reason dispite Kita using the foot switch during the school festival show.

Important Amp correction. In the show, it's a JCM 900. You can tell this by counting the dials. 800's only have 6 dials, where as 900's have 10. The amp everything is recorded on (if it's a Marshall) is most likely a JCM2000 though, since that's the more readily available Marshall in Japan.

@hollyc54178 ай бұрын
theyve been doing those for months but they're still very much built in several ways like an epiphone. the scarf joint and how the binding continues from the neck to the headstock is very much not like a gibson, not to mention the difference in trussrod and the cover.
@guitarhampter8 ай бұрын
@@hollyc5417 the truss rod cover is obvious, I kind of assumed the fret ends would not be bound, it's the scarf joint that's surprising. Their announcements made a very big deal of the "one piece neck" thing, implying the contrary. But I haven't actually had my hands on any of the new pricey Epiphones so all my info is secondhand. Apparently the retailers in my country don't even have any of these yet. As for the whole binding situation I'm only familiar with Standards - and they obviously don't have headstock binding at all edit: I just had a look and I see what you mean, the way they do the binding on the Epiphones really looks like a scarf joint, the Gibson binding looks just uninterrupted.

I got a lefty version of this back in 2020 and totally love it. I have 8 other guitars of varying build and quality. It quickly became my favourite one to play. Seeing it show up in Bocchi was a huge OMG moment for me. What drives me nuts, though, is that she gig-bags the thing. In spite of the price, the neck and headstock are practically designed to fail. The angles they're set in makes it as play-able as can be, but puts them very precarious position for anything less than a totally form fitted hardshell. Mine was made with the "original" non-relief body which weighs in at a hefty 9.8lb. I can't imagine the average gig-bag holding up to that kind of weight for very long.

I'm just grateful to still see Bocchi content still flying around. You make her songs seem so easy. 6k for a guitar is BRUTAL, so I hope my comment and like helps reimburse!

I want more music animes. Also I assume you've seen or read Beck (I'd recommend both myself.) but it's also an amazing anime, quite a different vibe though.

Some other Les Paul options that I like: 1) Sire L7 2) Tokai Love Rock 3) Heritage H-150 Additionally, the used guitar section is always worth checking out, one of my favorite guitars is used.

Modern Gibson Les Pauls are very inconsistent quality-wise. That's why used Les Pauls from the 90's or even earlier is a safer bet.

I started learning bass because of BECK, fell in love with the instrument because of K-ON, and bought my main bass because of Bandori (I got an ESP/LTD now), Bocch ithe Rock just adds to my beloved anime series because of the bassists on the show

That last part of the intro solo was so sick.. never heard anything like it
@101Meeko1018 ай бұрын
how could you not have included the bottle neck solo, its so iconic specially with Bocchi's actual guitar. but love the dedication and the guitar sounds amazing

You got my dream guitar! I always wanted to own the ‘68 Custom but it’s so expensive. I’m planning on going with the newest Epiphone Custom since it got the new headstock and Gibson pickups.
@MattyyyM8 ай бұрын
that'll be awesome! there definitely won't be $4000-$5000 difference to play

Get a edwards instead, its slightly cheaper and better quality as it is made in japan. Believe me the quality is amazing

I was under the impression that it was a 57 custom. I absolutely want to play as good as this some day. Currently rocking an Epi Studio in Alpine white but if I got good enough to justify a $6k guitar, I'd certainly choose this one.

And for all us poor people 😂 MSA VISION guitars have a very similar looking Les Paul style model LSG3 (except the pickguard is cream ivory) for $130 and HB (Harley Benton / Thomann) has the exact same looking model named "SC-500 BK Vintage Series" for under $170 (I'd go with the HB, have several copies from them - one in the Telecaster style, one in PRS style, one Gibson DC Junior style, some from their own creations - they always have exceptional QC and value for money - on par with the top tier Epiphone, which I also have as a Les Paul style and are just a tad under the lesser Gibsons, highly recommended)

I recently started learning guitar didn't watch bocchi till 3 days ago and will say it definitely just made me want to practice which is cool

id love to say Bocchi made me pick up the guitar again and continue learning from where I left off but Metalocalypse is the reason I'm doing it lol, I will say I freakin love Les Pauls tho and I was close to getting back into it when I saw her rocking one

The prices of the Gibson Ebony Customs are miserable considering a flame-maple top Gibson, Heritage, or Gretsch can be had for around half. I still want one, of course.

Got myself the epiphone les Paul custom and have to say its worth it. Sounds and feels amazing. Cant tell Something better in its price range imo. Up to 1000 bucks with a nice hard case and you can even get the Gibson Pickups. Sure other companys make also pretty good guitars in that price range but this one feels just perfect 😅

I mean She started playing guitar during her first year of middle school which is around 12, now she is 16. She doesnt do anything else other than going to sch and staying at home playing that guitar. 4 years of lifting that heavy guitar, she is definitely JACKED

I started guitar because of Bocchi the Rock and wanted a Yamaha Pacifica at first, but settled first with a Squier Stratocaster then a Fender Stratocaster after some months. Now I am liking my Stratocaster. (I still want a Les Paul in a future though). 😄😄
