Absolutely astounding. I don't think I have ever seen three more impressive young musicians in my life. Boy #1 (Ryan O.), amazing with the tipper... brought an "old school charm" to the group and a very obvious expertise. Boy #2 (Aaron), absolutely incredible dancing and the high notes he reached with the drum were epic. Boy #3 (Ryan S.), good grief this young man made playing look effortless and his dancing was the same... even the way he moves to the rhythm, in a phrase.... he's like a bodhran Elvis. His entire personage is magical... you can literally feel his dedication, perfectionism and love for what he is doing... and add that to the fact that he actually IS freaking amazingly talented then you have the whole package! I literally clapped out loud, had a wee bit o' eye sweat and just felt amazed all around. You guys are phenomenal. BRAVO! I will be sharing this with vigor! BRAVO!

Accidentally deleted old comment from September 3, 2015: What I like most about these guys is the unique talents of each of them. The leftmost performer is great at bass accents. The dude in the middle does great rim shots. The guy on the right is great at incorporating flourishes. He also dominates the dancing.

The most beautiful about it, is that its all about culture! Without culture, we lose our roots and history! Many european countries forget that, to please other incomming cultures! Tradition is all that matter, and the only think, that keeps a people together! Im dane, and my culture, and traditions, are in geopardy, because of the multiculturel wave, and the european politicians, who dont care about our speciel way to live! We are unik, and need to keep the traditions alive, or we gonna drown, without any pride! U three lads are great and a pride for your country!

You realise the Irish have one of the widest diasporas in the world? We emigrate to other countries constantly and other nationalities move here. And yet our culture flourishes and evolves. Diversity strengthens and enriches culture, it doesn't kill it.
@Schmuckubus5 жыл бұрын
@_egas calybird Lad who said we aren't nice? I know we're nice, that's why people come here so often and why we're welcome in so many other countries. And we do so have a huge diaspora, there's Irish in most countries, Irish bars all over the place. Fuckin St. Patricks day is celebrated worldwide, do ya think they licked it off a stone? Maybe some dubs want to abolish the Irish language but sure that only matters if we stop speaking it. Teach it to the people who come here from elsewhere, have their kids learn it. That's how you keep your culture alive. And you didn't learn shill from anyone Irish, you learned that off some 22yo WASP on 4chan. That's a fine culture you're perpetuating there pal.
@laakkonen68475 жыл бұрын
Culture only dies when people try to stop it from changing. If you want to stop culture from evolving, you set it on a shelf and doom it to irrelevancy. If Irish culture refuses to adapt, and refused to allow outside influences to potentially enter, they wouldn't have the banjo, they wouldn't have the guitar. The threat isn't immigrants. Immigrants can join their new country's culture if they're allowed. They can introduce new syncretism. They can benefit the culture. If you try to preserve things just the way it was back then, it's not music, it's a pickle.

Hello to you from Florida. I teach elementary music (K-5th). I've been using this video to show my students what this amazing instrument is and how wonderful all of you play it. I realize that it's been quite some time since you've put this particular video together, but my students are still excited and amazed to watch. My students and I were wondering what made you all choose to play together? Did you take lessons from the same teacher together? Also, at around what age did you start playing the bodhran? We were talking about music happening in families and being passed down from one family member to another, is that how you started playing the bodhran? Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Irish music is a rare treat here in Southwest Florida, so it was lovely to watch this amazing video! Many blessings, Nadia Armsworth, Music Teacher
