Yes! New episode's out. As Emily's story progresses, I feel proud of what she's achieving. Slowly but surely, she's gaining confidence of going outside and face the zombies, scavenge and even make the vicinity safe. And it seems like luck is by her side, acquiring 2 bags and a helmet similar to Jamie's. Soon enough, Emily will turn into a seasoned survivor. I can't help but laugh when you placed the chair in the window and proceeds on watching the streets.

I really enjoyed the chair by the window. Speaks to a lot of different emotions and thoughts within Emily at the moment and is a fun visual as well. Something I'm hoping to rely upon heavily the deeper we get into her story, is her desire to understand and analyze the infected and the situation she's been put in. Should be rather different from the characters we've had in the past, and motivate her in new directions we haven't explored.

@@twowheeledgaming that's why this season (with the context from the previous seasons) has a lot of possibilities and what ifs. Like for example, would Emily follow the first three Main Characters' way of surviving? Since she's a doctor, would her story revolve around understanding the Virus and maybe creating a vaccine? Since the NNR is already introduced in season 2, is there a possibility that she will join the group? Or will Emily and Jules meet someday? Yada yada yada. All I'm saying is that I can't wait for the next episode😅.

really good series. I have really enjoyed all of them. You should You should consider the extra weapon slot mod by braven. Let's you tuck a pistol in the back of your pants. Would be great visual for your playthrough and realistic for a novice shooter who doesn't have a proper holster. I know I wouldn't leave my pistol laying around if the events of zomboid were going on outside.

Been waiting for this one! It's nice to see Emily slowly coming to terms with her new reality, and I'm looking forward to seeing how she handles things in the future. She's smart, cautious, and very analytic in how she's approaching everything, so it'll be a real treat to see her when she's got a better understanding of the shituation she's found herself stuck in. It's also such a striking difference between how she is able to take a few days till her leg starts to feel better and after a huge storm to finally go out and try to top up on "fresh" supplies and Jules' constant grind only to exhaustedly find just enough to keep him from starving to death. I'm a little doubtful that Jules would have been able to go after Kevin like he did if he was able to leave the Golf Club and immediately find enough food to think. Keep up the great work man, looking forward to the rest of her story!😊

That's honestly a pretty interesting point to ponder, and certainly a fun "What If...?" to play out. If Jules had found it a bit easier to get his legs under him, would he have gone after Kevin earlier, or would he have just built up a deeper cave to hide in? I certainly agree that if he went after Kevin without going through the trials he endured first, that fight would surely only go one way. But, if he built up a cocoon of books and safety early on, he might have never caught Kevin's antics and gone after him.

And it would be nifty if she could get in touch with Jules. I think everyone here would *like* it if she went to Little Hope with him, but to be realistic she'd probably be too much of a skeptic to do so, though I like to think Jules would feel as if he owes it to her, as if to make sure she's safe, like to carry the torch for the man that died so that he could live and to protect the family of the others that died under the mans care.

Do you come up with a vague outline of a script and fill in the blanks after you get the game footage? or do you just play and record and then take what you record and write based on that?

I think it was pure luck. The infection was only just starting to get bad, and Emily's neighborhood had largely evacuated already. It was just her, Anne, and the Coals. Otherwise, she'd have been swamped for sure.

This season has focused heavily on being "believable", since I've gained a better grasp on the concept with our previous adventures and Emily's character serves as a great vessel for that particular story. While I imagine it wont end up being everyone's cup of tea as her journey will be rather "slow", I do hope that the more methodical pace allows for a deeper connection with the character by the end.

It's one of those details I wish I was more aware of in my previous seasons, since a lot of the characters will spend weeks in bloody clothes, but I thought especially with Emily being a doctor, she'd be VERY aware of the dangers of having poor hygiene.

She's having a much easier time than Jules, but every step forward for him was met with being thrust down into hell. XD I think the main restriction for Emily right now is her leg. Every hurdle is just a bit higher with an injury like that, and it makes her far more timid when it comes to striking out at the world.

Since you've gone over it before (thank you for that by the way), the logistics and effort that already go into making a story out of a free flowing, randomized Zomboid run is already something that sounds incredibly difficult. I can only imagine the extra level of complexity that adding in a VA would bring, but both you and her are doing a fantastic job with it!

This series will always be a fun challenge of creativity and logistics, but working with the voice actress for this series honestly has been far easier than I ever imagined. To her credit, she's an amazing individual to work with, and her dedication to "getting it right" is on a whole other level that you all will probably never get to appreciate. XD

It might be a good idea for Emily to drag one of the grills in her neighborhood to her backyard so when the power goes out she will still be able to cook food, unless she wants to do so over an open camp fire. Also if her leg is getting better she might consider moving tables, bookshelves, and whatever else she can carry to obstruct, or partially obstruct, the side yards of her home to form a bottleneck.

All good ideas, but I'm trying my best to deal with problems as they arise since most people would probably navigate a situation like this in that manner. Emily is taking certain steps to being proactive, but there are some tactics and approaches that she wouldn't even know about at this point as she's still settling into all the new threats she has to consider.

Another great episode. The narration + voice over combo really brings a lot. Have you done a story with something like Zombie Virus vaccine Update 41.78+ before? An "I am legend"-esque scientist character would make for an interesting tale I think.

That would be wonderful! I've always thought that apocalypse stories should be about what's worth saving, not what's been lost. The idea of one tenacious doctor pulling humanity back from the teetering brink would be exactly my cup of tea.

I saw a theory on Twitter where the reason why Emily had a double bed was because she had a boyfriend or husband who left the city or was out of town, or maybe even dead. I know this most likely isn't the case but that would be an interesting plot line, similar to maybe Gills and his desire to bring rest to the people in his life.

You know, that's not a horrible idea. We still don't know who Logan is to Emily, after all. Maybe he's just another neighbor, or maybe the reason Emily owns a two-bedroom house (but, admittedly, uses one room as a gym) is because she shares it with somebody.

This is the Martin's daughter (the older couple that were with the group at the country club), so she is connected to Jules' story, but she's not related to Kevin or Marcus.

Wow, how is her street so empty? Ope, nevermind, there's one. I don't know why that fannypack tickles me so much, but it does. That zombie's mustache was GLORIOUS. Am I the only one severely creeped out by how purposefully that zombie seemed to move? It was like she was on a mission to get into the house across the street. Damn it. There they are. A trickle can fill a cup as surely as a geyser. Opposite of fun, indeed! That looks miserable! Poor thing keeps going to the windows. Can't say I blame her. You know, if she can, she should really start sponge-bathing and just keep the tub full of water. When the utilities go down, an bathtub full of water will keep her hydrated for a while so that she can find another solution. Damn, they're just packing in and around that place like sardines. Why on earth do they like that particular house so much? Oh dear. She got a chair to put by the window. Poor thing's going a bit stir-crazy, I think. Hey, her movement is looking better! Seems the leg is starting to heal a bit, now that she's taken a couple days to rest. Careful, Em! And happy hunting. I wonder, is she quietly revising her definition of 'streets packed with infected' now that it's starting to become truer than before? Oh, god damn it! There goes any progress toward dispersing the dead that the storm might have accomplished. Oh dear. I forgot what a horror show the back yard was turning into. There's so many of them! She can't go that way on her leg, can she? At least the street is partly clear. That's not nothing. I've got to be honest, I saw that red motorcycle helmet and thought it was somehow Jamie for the splittest of seconds. But he's in West Point catching the biggest fish he's ever seen right now, not wandering Emily's street. Broken weapons are always a heart-skipping moment. Ooh, who have we there? That's an awfully thick coat for this weather. I do like Emily's current coat, but maybe that one will keep her warmer when winter arrives. Hang on to it, Em! And just look at all those goodies! That backpack, that food, those tools! Thanks for your supplies, poor former survivor. It still creeps me out when they come slithering through windows like that! Aw, poor guy. Survived being shot - probably by the helicopter - only to be unable to defend himself from that bite. That explains why he was wearing so many layers in a southern summer: he probably had terrible chills from the fever that killed him. Ooh, a walkie-talkie! I know she'll never use it to talk to Jamie or Jules, but I'm curious how it could come into play. It probably doesn't have much of a range. Even if she were to try, I don't think it could even reach Riverside or West Point. It'd probably only be good for Louisville, and probably not even the entirety of it. But there must be someone with the matching walkie-talkie out there somewhere nearby. Sounds like Emily doesn't plan to use it immediately, but will the person on the other end take the initiative? Surely they must miss their backpack-toting buddy. Oh man - seeing a red helmet being laid out with other zombie-killing gear sure brings back memories.

I was leaning into the broken leg aspect of her character (no pun intended). With the satchel she's able to keep as much weight as possible off her broken leg, though as she heals she'll be more comfortable to start wearing larger backpacks that no longer cause her pain.

Im curious if subject 013's gunshot wound was before or after his bite. The latter has interesting implication.

It absolutely was before the bite. The implication I got is that the gunshot is the reason he died, even though it wasn't lethal in and of itself. He couldn't use his right arm due to the injury, and he was bitten on the right jaw. If he hadn't been shot, he maybe could've defended himself from the chomper that got him.

@@thefairybug40 the bite doesn't turn you instantly. He could have been bitten and a partner he was with tried to kill him but failed. He then could have escaped and bandaged himself before turning.

There is always the chance that Emily could be wrong, but going off her estimation and examination, she's concluded that he was shot and then turned. Probably citing things such as "Wouldn't have been able to bandage himself easily with one arm." or "The larger part of the bullet had been removed, meaning he had been shot for awhile before turning." Also, I do try to keep the Doctor's Notes concise for the sake of the video, but she does give the cause of death as the bite itself, and probably for good reason.

@@twowheeledgaming well we've seen zombies munching on corpses, so it seems reasonable that the virus does not, in fact, reanimate corpses. Now I know Jamie shot himself after getting bitten but I'm pretty sure that's not in the vanilla game. Granted it could have just been a pose mod and then you went into console commands to kill him since the screen went to black when the gun went off. In multiplayer, if you kill another player who was bitten, do they turn into a zombie? I vaguely remember hearing once that you have to drink bleach after being bitten to guarantee your now dead character won't turn into a zombie.
