I always wear level lV, I do have level lllA discrete soft body armor, just for thst simple run around town protection.

​@albertptran RMAs multi curve lightweights aren't too much thankfully and have heard very promising results on their pending NIJ tests for them. I like the idea that I can survive 30.06 from a boomer in the worst case scenario. I will likely have other byproduct injuries as a result, but won't have a football sized exit wound either.

If your a cop or there is advance care available I think body armor is relevant. I think in mostly urban/suburban areas, in and out of vehicles, mostly cqb/ long term home defense type situations body armor is relevant. My use case living in a mostly wooded moutainous areas it slows you down and it dont matter how many balistic plates you have on if you get pinned down your dead. The other side is in a shtf scenario there is no secondary care. Broken sternum, broken ribs that perforate a lung, broken vertabrae are common injuries even if the plate stops them. So what youll take a few days to die potentially while captured and being tortured? I am all good on that. I'll be the lord. Where Im going the rut neverends and there are no property lines. All true statements. Theres pros and cons to all choices. And rucking terrain like in Appalachia with full plates is fucking miserable as is. But if you're already outsupplied and outnumbered, plates aren't going to make a substantial footprint in guerilla strategies. Shoot, move, communicate will all help you without the plates.

He may not be running 6 minute miles but it really comes down to marching for sustained periods and I have seen bigger guys perform in that catagory.
