Chad and Lori believed that no one would notice that Tylee and JJ were missing in Idaho because a gigantic earthquake was going to hit in Utah in 2019. How did that make sense to them at all? Did Lori assume that Colby would never talk or want to see his little sister and his little brother again? Did Lori expect Kay and Larry to give up on wanting to visit JJ and watch him grow up? How did Chad and Lori think that an earthquake in Utah was going to make it acceptable for Lori's children to disappear in Idaho? It just doesn't make sense. How could they think that no one in Lori's family would care if they didn't hear from the kids after a year or two? How could they be so stupid to think that they could get away with murdering two innocent children and just think that no one would ever care or notice?

I’m currently a Maintenance Dispatcher. There are plenty of good people who believe in religion. Trouble is, religion is a gateway to fancy thinking. It’s OK to think of scriptures as parables or stories but they are just that - stories. Stories can teach us to live better lives and reinforce ethical and moral tenants but it’s important to understand their fables. People of faith are susceptible to thinking they’re special but pride is a common human frailty. After all, God created the universe for them. Not exactly a humble perspective. Somehow it was lost on these people that it was them that were dark, deceived, selfish, lustful, greedy, and full of pride.

I actually think Alex Cox may have done this to get back at Lori & Chad. But Lori can't mention that because it would be an admission for Tammy's passing. This would explain `youll see when the truth comes out` statements and would also explain the rushed marriage - they wouldn't have to `tell` on each other or wouldn't look more suspicious when they were eventually caught. Chad & Lori didn't realize the people they were relying on to defend them - actually didn't like them.
