Ice T has stated in many interviews that one of his influences is MDC. It's evident he liked MDC as he copied their album cover for his demo.

MDC later became "Millios of dead christians"...Liked their musical viewpoints...specifically "John Wayne was a nazi"...anybody that did their homework about John Wayne knew he was a huge McCarthyist and propagandist for Joe McCarthy and the closeted Roy Kohn.
@aaronscrewface13 күн бұрын
No he didn't. He is a big MDC fan yes, but he and that has nothing to do with this "demo". This isn't a real Body Count release its some bootleg shit either drummed up by the tape trading scene or its another fake release made by the uploader because shit like that gets views on here.

The "Freedom Of Speech (just watch what you say)" tune they replaced it with on the album is deadly though! But yeah I know, evil censorship and all that. It's just a brillant album overall. Saw these guys in the early 90's with D.R.I. Insanity, and Xanthus at one step beyond in santa clara ca. I remember looking up at the marquee and it said ICE T. I was confused, but then i saw them and it made sense. His attempt at a metal band. Not bad, but not great either. Love cop killer. Made sense since suicidal had gone "metal" and was all the rage back then. D.R.I. killed it that night. Played for at least an hour and a half. Think it was 1991.

Yes. I remember seeing a tape review in a back issue of MRR of that band. I have a comp with one of their songs on there (The A.L.F. Is Watching). There is also another Body Count from Washington DC also in 83. I just heard one song that's not that good on a comp (Bouncing Babies). Ska Punk song with saxophone.

REAL DETECTIVE WORK AFTER I CLEARLY SAID THIS IS HOW IT WAS DELIVERED TO ME. YOU SEE FANS USED TO SUPPORT BANDS WITHOUT INCENTIVES SUCH AS LIKES, FOLLOWERS OR THE DOLLAR. IT WAS CALLED SUPPORT TO FILL THE VENUES BECAUSE THE MUSIC WOULDNT BE AVAILABLE IN THE STORES EITHER FROM BOYCOTT OR LACK OF ABILITY TO GET MATERIAL. THIS IS DIY SUPPORT. CLEARED BY THE BAND.
@13tuyutiАй бұрын
Looks like you're right. The audio quality is different but the the vocal delivery is exactly the same.

Wait, so this is... not an actual demo recording? I've never heard any body count demos as it is... Never listened the entire studio release either. But, it seems strange to upload a falsified version of a bands work, without clearly stating it's fan-made/tribute/etc.

This can't be a demo. Maybe a rough mix??? Or maybe someone even messed around with the audio & pass it off as a demo. Everything sounds identical to the album versions...the vocals for certain are identical.
If I may ask, why exactly did ARA want to confront BC in the first place? Surely not even the dumbest person on earth could have mistaken them for a WP band!

They have a Klansman on the cover, and the crosshairs looks like a Celtic Cross. "Tonight We Get Even" and there's a pic of a Klansman holding a gun. Who is the "we" in that title, if not the Klansman? You might not know the answer to that until you saw that the band was comprised of black guys.d It's not like we had the internet to look this shit up. It was word of mouth -- "a band called Body Count is coming to town, and they have a Klansman on the cover of their record" -- seems like a good reason for your local antifa crew to have a gathering.

The vocals on "Cop Killer" sound like mid 80s to early 90s MDC era where Dave sings a little slower. I remember when the song and album were all over the news after H.W. Bush complained about it. My brother mentioned that it sounds like MDC but I couldn't hear it. I was more into MDC's first album, Millions of Dead Cops, which the vocals are a lot faster and higher pitched.
