Almost sounds better than the album in a way... The guitars on the album sucks. Awful tone, overrides the midrange & low end to the point you can't tell it apart from the bass a lot of the time. On this you can actually hear the bass clearly!!! I mean, neither Jerry or Doyle are very good musicians anyway but it's nice to hear them both clearly.

Also, it shows pretty clearly that Graves's vocal abilities were nowhere near as flawless as people often claim. Which is totally fine especially for a punk band, don't get me wrong. But that album version has been "polished" to death, it often just sounds very unnatural. What a waste

@@samteks125 Hearing him live shows that he's not a great singer. I do like his vocal tone a lot, but he always struggled to sing in the right key and also he's always out of breath live ! But i really like his tone and the American Psycho/Famous Monsters era for me is as good as classic Misfits !

Yeah Doyle pretty much has said he doesn’t care about any of that and that he’s a one trick pony. That sounds is the sound Doyle wants for whatever reason. Jerry isn’t a bad bassist and he wrote a bunch of the songs of the New Fits but he much rather distort the shit out of his bass and play loud than play technically. You can tell he cares more about the image rather than being a technical musician. Which is probably why Danzig ended The Misfits and started Samhain. I do wonder why Jerry added Dez as a second guitarist. Maybe he wanted someone more technical.
