1 vs 4 is not always harder than 1 vs 1, especially when the 4 are not used to coordinate with one another. Sometimes they could get in each other way causing them to be less effective. Plus he was probably holding back in the first time as he didn't need to go all out to beat him. As a fighter always hold back your ability when possible as to not give always the depth of your ability.

He could also be playing them. Not showing everything up front. He told everyone that he will be the one left. With everyone watching you accomplish 2 things. You weed out the weak one who know they can’t beat you and the uppers don’t know everything you carry. The last fighter was his teacher. She may have a few tricks she didn’t teach him but she knows nothing about what he has hidden from all of them. He’s played chess on the combat circle. Oh and they never finished and he was accomplishing something the last fighter was missing, he played games with her head. The main word “HER”. She getting upset maybe and I’ll leave it at that.

Unless they use weapons, no way that a much smaller person can win against a bigger one. It's like an undertaker and rey mysterio fight. Just no contest.
