A series of mysterious evidence and details surround the case of Amanda Knox. In fact, there seemed to be so much contradictory and confusing evidence that I had to fall back on Knox's nonverbal communication to help clear the air. What did her body language say? I hope you enjoy part one of this two-part series on the case of Amanda Knox.

Instead Amanda's made it the Amanda show. Shame on her for cashing in on merediths death. She claims to hate the media but is lapping it up. My radar goes off with this one. She told too many lies, there's too many inconsistencies and frankly she's a total narccasist.

@@shona- The innocent person , Patrick, is someone who the prosecutor assumed was doing a satanic ritual that involved a human sacrifice, and Patrick was the warlock in charge, and the 3 other people were assiting him. Further investigation revealed this did not happen and Patrick was not there. However before they knew what happened the theory was Patrick was responsible, and he was treated as if he was the murderer. Amanda had not learned Italian very well yet and could not read rhe confession she was forced to sign.

Honestly, it would have to be a significant amount of blood, and a trail of it for my mind to jump immediately to "murder". Plus, living in a foreign country for a relatively short period of time .. I think there are people who immediately go to the most dramatic explanation, and people who go to benign explanations first. And I think people who look at evidence after the fact apply their own bias/reactions without considering we aren't all built the same.

It was a classic case of picking a perpetrator and then only investigating the evidence that would make them guilty. Could she be guilty? Maybe. But by focusing on only her and her then-boyfriend they flat refused to investigate anything else and because they believed it was an open and shut case they didn't even try to preserve the crime scene or evidence. Then the Italian press went nuts. My Italian in-laws were embarrassed by what they read in the articles and what they were told by relatives who still lived there.

@star child wow I did not know any of that. The media has had such a frenzy for Amanda that I didn't know much about him. I mean even though that's all really weird stuff, it still could go both ways. It is extremely worrying though. So that makes me wonder if she unwittingly brought a bad person into their lives and he committed the crime on his own or if she helped him. Or if its that 3rd guy. Can't believe how horrible the investigation was. If they would have done it right, they for sure would have had answers. These were younger people doing crimes, they would have left evidence everywhere.

I'm concerned that the people in the comments saying "I always disliked the look of her/she gave me a bad feeling" are just responding to an unconscious bias. As a person with a naturally heavy brow, heavy lids and a downturned mouth, I have had strangers tell me I always looked angry to them or they were afraid of me, or thinking I was about to break out in tears, when it was just a normal day for me. I think we are very used to seeing faces posed as happy that when they differ sufficiently from that emoting, we tend to read them as hostile even if they aren't.

At one point he claimed to have been intimate with Meredith on a one night stand, when she was known to not be promiscuous. A girl of Amanda’s size would have defensive wounds too. @@PatriciaKelly-gz7vg Most people will tell police pretty much anything they want to hear after a long enough interrogation. Those tactics are designed to confuse, disorient, and render desperate. Young people, those with language access issues, those separated from their support systems, and those far from home are even more likely to give false confession and falsely implicate others. Police, at least in the US are well aware that if you interrogate a traumatized foriegn student for hours and hours in a language they only speak passingly well, she will eventually start wracking her brain to come up with theories and knowledge and it will distort the investigation. It was almost a recipe for false confession and/or false implication. Good investigators only do interrogations like that AFTER they have the facts of the case.

I would think so. I mean, look at the girl even now, with it proven there is not a shred of evidence linking her to the murder, and the real killer having all the evidence linked to him, and him going to prison for it, there are still people who, after what the Italians did to Amanda, refuse to believe she could possibly be innocent. They have an interest in believing she is guilty, even though she isn't.

Yep, your judgement of Amanda Knox's character is similar to mine. Definitely don't think she's weird though. I think she's very interesting. Think she finds it quite difficult to empathise with other people, (as seen from her rarely talking about Meredith), but she also does have principles. Don't think she's a killer, (and haven;t seen anything to suggest there is much evidence to suggest she killed Meredith) - seen another more recent interview where she seems to have been inspired to become an attorney, from what happened to her in Italy all those years ago now,
