Now sporting lip fillers, long bleach blonde hair and fake nails, she explains: “My current style is inspired by Barbie, everything that’s fake attracts me more than natural.” Previously dressed in basic black, Chiara wants to look more feminine, wearing short tops and skirts in glitter and pink, she now refers to herself as “Blond Bimbo”. What I love about that is "Barbie" is supposed to be every woman. Every girl is their own version of Barbie and there is a Barbie for every girl (or boy, or neither), Barbie is an an idea. Barbie dolls are also intended to be customized through fashion and accessories to be whatever the owner wants, that's why Barbie has always had a range of dolls. So to say any one style is "Barbie" is kind of antithetical to Barbie's entire purpose. Really they're referencing a very specific era of Mattel's advertising (ie the iconic logos/packaging and Barbie branded products of the late mid 80s to early mid 90s that didn't really reflect the vast majority of actual Barbie dolls).

Girl, taking care of your body means you're making sure it is healthy. Update: I’ve checked her instagram and since this she has gotten more nasal piercings 2 subdermal implants on her forehead to resemble horns, removed the large stretched under lip gauge and gotten large lip injections (only from what I can tell) if anyone else was wondering

Here’s what I got against Chiara’s mods and tats. She’s 19. She’s already blacked over all her other face tats and chest. She changes her style constantly and when she was little she always covered her face in pics because she was self conscious. These things help self consciousness, but perhaps a better long term plan is loving yourself as you are and having confidence before you modify everything. Because 10 years from now when she’s 29 and still can’t get a regular job, her style might change again and she may feel regret. Also, chicks got almost no other tats on her body what’s that about? I thought body first then job ruiners

Like their nose or lips, teeth, shape of her face etc. Which is evident when you look at the pictures, they showed of her when she was younger. Similar in part to 'Body Dysmorphia Disorder'. And the piercings and tattoos are meant to act as a shield by distracting others from focusing on whatever it is about herself that she's unhappy about. Projecting an aura that screams stay away. As a mental shield. It could also be that the whole "style" thing just allows her to avoid being herself (feeling vulnerable), and more of a character she feels is stronger (more confident and protected). Which is why I said she might have issues she needs to deal with. ...professionally. But all of what I've said is based on what *I've* seen and had to deal with in my life for someone very close to me. I hope that answers your questions.

@@daturanights And that's stupid right there. Even professional tattoo artists messed up people's eyes when doing their scleras. What's wrong with colored contacts? They're the same as wearing regular contact lenses, and you can get different colors (patterns too) to change the color of the iris, and many times the sclera. I have several pairs of colored contacts, and love to wear two different colors, or just one. And they don't mess up your vision. I don't see why anyone would risk their vision by sticking a needle into their eye, not to mention tattoo ink. Who knows what that will do later on. I'll stick with my colored lenses, thank you. It's not that difficult, the piercings were progressively done some time ago and a breast surgery is something that a woman who works can afford, the dye is not expensive And acrylic nails can be paid too, it's not impossible, I don't know if you don't work, because someone who works knows that it is something that can be achieved.

That's what happens with most teens (and those in their early 20s), especially if they have time and money and if they aren't spending most of their days trying to earn enough to survive. Between ages 12-35 I went through dozens of phases and subcultures regarding clothing and hairstyles, and luckily I had the good sense to really consider my tattoos and not get any on impulse. I have eight and I don't regret any of them. These heavily modded young adults are SO SURE they'll love their current aesthetic forever, and they have to reflect it to the fullest and get it done as fast as possible.

First thing I noticed when they showed the school age pics is that before she became her true self she was literally uncomfortable within herself and hiding her face in both pics. In doing her mods she has gained her confidence and is finally comfortable in her skin and that's amazing..good on her for having the courage to be her true self instead of a sheep caring what others will think the only feelings that matter are her own

She started this at 11... it’s not surprising she wants to completely change now. She’s so young making so many permanent decisions to her body. My style totally changed throughout my teen years. If I had the ability to, I wanted a LOT of piercings. I still want some but I would have taken most out by now. A lot of people (my younger self included) think you can just take piercings out if you’d like and go back to normal. You can’t do that with what she has but I’m sure she knows that. What I thought looked cool when I was 11 isn’t my taste anymore. I think people should at least wait until 16-18+ depending on what they want done. She’s 19, and I can’t help but think that she would look much different had she not waited until that age to begin body mods. I hope she can find happiness and love herself. I am not commenting to hate on her appearance or against body mods because I think some of it looks cool. I hope if she sees this she doesn’t interpret my concerns that way Edit: yeah I was right. Looking at her Instagram she has since had the stretched piercings around her lips closed and she looks very different since this video was posted. Even then, I’m sure if she could go back from some of her tats and body mods she would. But those can’t really be undone as easily
