Yes, you're my girl, thank you. I thought I was the only one who liked this movie. I personally love it, it's actually my favorite Madonna movie along with Dangerous Game. I thought it was very good and Madonna was brilliant in it. The character had layers, a mystery and a malignant side that Madonna knew how o portray very well. Her evil face is phenomenal. I truly think she did a great job. I mean, compare this role with Susan, with Breathless Mahoney and with Nikki from Who's That Girl. It's amazing that those 3 characters were played by the same actress, she completely transformed herself for each role. I never understood why this movie got so much hate. I mean, the critics I get it, they were coming from the SEX book and they ready to trash Madonna even if she was giving an Oscar worthy dramatic performance. But the fans, I don't know why they don't like it. I love it. It's a serious drama-crime movie, well done, with a character that not many actresses could play like Madonna did. This movie and Dangerous Game are to me Madonna's best movies.

Madonna’s best acting is in the 1993 movie Dangerous Game with Harvey Keitel. I kind of hated the movie but her dramatic scenes make you wonder if the problem is not her acting but her ability to choose good movies. She’s superb in it.Very dark movie.

@@EmpressReactsi also think she was at her best at Dangerous Game. Some scenes are so raw and tragic it almost feels like she isn’t acting but re-lived what has happened to her in real life. It is hard to watch but very convincing at the same time. This Art house movie itself is complicated because it’s a movie within a movie. I think you should watch it but probably don’t have to make a reaction video. You will see Madonna like you never see her before!! I was so impressed and still am. But it’s probably the least popular movie Madonna ever made.

I actually enjoyed this film. It was hampered by the fact basic instinct came before (and Sharon stone and Madonna looked very similar, with a similar air of confidence about them) and the fact this movie will be forever tied up with the sex book and the Erotica album. A I can see why critics would hate the film, but I think it's good for what it is and Madonna plays the part well. It's crazy to think that just a short time after, Madonna would go on to star in Evita and would shock the critics' more than she ever could have during her 'sex' overload era.

If I'm not mistaken, Rebecca didn't die in the first draft of the script, when M signed up to it. Also, i noticed M tends to choose creative outputs that has at least a mention of homosexuality. It had done a lot to further the visibility and later on, acceptability of non-heterosexual liaisons, relationships and complexities / nuances.

Me and my friend always laugh about her seeing this movie with her mom!! Talk about hilarious. I thought Madonna was really good in the courtroom scenes, especially when she was on the stand. It's so funny you're going to go from this to Evita😂 I think she got such a shocking reaction to this film because people were not used to seeing a "pop star" so completely exposed, showing ALMOST EVERYTHING. This on top of the reaction with the Sex book really got the public thinking she was a complete nympho freak show. I was always such a big fan of Madonna because her career was so entertaining and changing so drastically over the years. I feel like she truly has something for everyone.

I think that she made this movie almost a year before this movie and the song Bad Girl came out. She made this movie during her making her book Sex in early 92. She was either about to or in the middle of making her movie Dangerous Game when she made her Bad Girl music video.
@ScotLight3 күн бұрын
@@dalee72 According to Wikipedia, Body of Evidence premiered in mid January of 92, around the same time Madonna started filming the Bad Girl video. So technically, they weren't made at the same time, but she was still promoting the movie at that time and she definitely brought a little Rebecca Carlson into her character for the Bad Girl video. Personally I think that Madonna would have, at the time, liked to have contributed some music to the soundtrack for 'Body' but the director didn't want to go that direction, and Bad Girl video was partly Madonna's way of doing it "my way." 😂 Looking back, it's probably a good thing Madonna's music doesn't have to be associated with that movie. 😂

I think I may have seen this movie once when it was released but the only thing I remember is the broken glass scene 🤣🤣🤣 This followed Justify My Love, Erotica Album and the S*x Book so I was basically tiring of that phase of Madonna’s career and ready for something bold and new which she eventually did of course with Something to Remember, Evita then Ray Of Light. I remember thinking at the time this movie came out that it was a bad knock-off of the movie Basic Instinct with Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas. Not even sure if the plots of these two movies are similar but they both certainly contained shocking scenes.

This movie is truly for camp connesseurs, just so bad it's entertaining. Acting is not Madonna's forte (except for Evita perhaps) but she's much better at making music and performing concerts. As a huge fan since she first appeared, I tried to watch her movies, but I just couldn't make it through most of them. They were just bad. "Desperately Seeking Susan" was cute but she was being herself.

This really now makes me think about an amateur film she starred in during the early New York days still a natural brunette, A Certain Sacfrice. Body of Evidence was then and is now my least favorite Madonna movies. She's good, but every other actor, and the dialogue, sucks. One of my favorite Madonna roles in the movies is Shanghai Surprise, her scenes are great sublime, but it's actually Sean Penn's worst acting jobs which still says a lot because he is an amazing talented and acvomplished actor. (Side note, At Close Range, as a movie, is a great stand alone film with Sean Penn and with Christopher Walken, and the theme song having been Live to Tell by Madonna. She was at the time married to Penn.)

This movie is absolutely terrible. It's a wannabe _Basic Instinct,_ but ultimately wound up being the sleazy sister of _Shanghai Surprise._ The movie got pulled from theaters after only a few weeks and, like all box office flops, was dumped to home video within a few months of its release. I rented it from the video store the same year and probably fast forwarded through most of it. I don't know what kind of headspace Madonna was in back in 1992 when she started this era, but it wasn't a good one.
