I’d really love a video on avoiding “The Frump” or looking dated. It’s one of my worst fears😂. If I’m honest, I’m old but don’t feel it, and don’t generally look it but want to keep it that way! I think there are a lot of us who feel like that.

In another recent video Melissa said that one of the things older women do that winds up dating themselves is refusing to wear styles or trends because they have seen them before. When I was younger I thought "frump" happened because of a refusal to accept the new. But now I see that it's more about knowing what that trend looks like when it goes OUT of style that makes me reluctant. That's helping me keep an open mind and be okay with revisiting things that went out and are now back, even if I remember the earlier trend.

I have had too many dated clothes in my wardrobe. Tbh it has been quite difficult because I am not good at throwing things out, especially when they are in good condition (some things have holes in them which I keep for gardening!) but I have had 3 sessions going through clothes I have hoarded for years and have either thrown away or donated to charity a lot of things (still many more to detach myself from). I have also bought some new pieces you have showcased in various videos that I took on holiday with me recently and felt so much better about myself. I love how positive and supportive you are with your clients and how generous you are with your advice. I really enjoyed this because it concentrates on a person who doesn't have any particular issue and can generally wear a lot, but even where this is the case, it can still be confusing when you go out to shop. This is often how I feel.

I have heard different things about pants length and agree it's tricky. In the red pantsuit, I prefer a length between Gemma's and the model's. It's nice when the pants "break" at the shoe, just touching. If you go "as long as possible without hitting the floor" I think you lose the classic look and run the risk of looking shorter, really, like the pants are swallowing up the ankles and feet. It really varies case by case.

As always, excellent tips. I've been thinking about the "white shirt" you've discussed in a few videos. I realize that I went to the one decent white SS shirt I have all the time last summer. But I have trouble finding nice white shirts that have a little uniqueness or flair and/or that aren't see-through. Maybe a future video?

You are such a great teacher. I watched your videos today and I put things together in my wardrobe that I normally don’t layer ,thank you so much. I have a very basic classic wardrobe. The only thing I didn’t have was the crewneck white T-shirts so I ordered some .I have crewnecks in other colors, but not white . I have white v necks T-shirts… when you have a neutral wardrobe it all goes together really well ,you just have to find ways to mix and match it. Another great video with so many teachable points. I love that Gemma has a great figure but doesn’t know it and tried on so many things that she would never pick up… The dos - all wonderful. I almost loved the Donts more as they were very relatable - overly pattern tops, short lapels and wrong length pants all Learning points. As I've gotten older, i find that i dont feel my best in white shirts. Probably, I should donate most of what I own in white. The items don't get worn very often. It would be helpful if you could do something similar with several shirts in one color, but not white. The concept is useful! I feel my coloring now looks much better with a gray-blue(blue-gray). Of course, I can do this myself, but it would be fun to see what you do with the idea.

I found this video so helpful thank you. One thing I did notice being similar larger bust wise but not a larger size in clothes is that there was no variation in tops for Gemma? I'm stuck with a white vest/ t shirt and I find that on a warmer day say once a nice jacket is removed it can look too 'basic'. So helpful! Even gorgeous fit women can look smashing in one thing, then matronly (mumsie in UK?) in a similar item but different style. Thanks to Gemma for being willing to show the less flattering options- totally illustrates the points! Love the slit skirts (the ✅option!) on Gemma and agree about the jeans! Those 70's front pockets are good on me- they add some interest to my very straight hips. And a flare (esp cropped kick flare) is a great shape on me (broad back, straight waist, small hips). That’s a myth I’m afraid and too much of a simplistic view as proper styling considers everything from head to toe and never just looks at one piece in isolation. Yes if you took a higher neck striped top on a larger busted lady then it wouldn’t flatter her but instead you’d use a deep v neck one, layer with a jacket, make sure her bottom half was balanced out and then absolutely she could wear the horizontal striped top!!

❤another fab styling session but as always id love to see what the client went home with 🛍👜 Hopefully the last pair of jeans, the last waistcoat, the light coloured blazer, the pale blue blazer, the cream trousers, the white vest top, the white tshirt, the paler blue jeans and the pale green skirt. I wasn't as keen on the black or the orange/red clothing apart from the orange waistcoat. I also find I can usually drop a dress size in River Island. Really enjoyed watching and appreciate all the effort put in ❤

Gemma has a beautiful figure and it made it easier to style her I think. The linen jackets, all look great on her as well as the jumpsuits. The beige skirt was lovely and it suited her shape and height. Just my opinion the last pair of jeans were just too long. I would’ve rolled them up out instead of Tucking it in . Until your next video, I do enjoy watching you style your clients. I think your shape is as good as Gemma. 👍😊

Another amazing video as usual. I love the bright colors on Jenna. As someone who is only 5"1" and a larger chest also, I have never worn things that are big on me because I feel like I'm drowning in them. I am Kibbe body typed as a Soft Gamine. The style of clothing recommended I am going to incorporate a few pieces to see how I feel in them. Because of a shorter torso and larger chest, I have worn V-necks which is not my SG body recommendations. Higher colors and necklines for my body type are the best as it draws the eye up. If I do not feel good in them, I will probably have to break that rule, maybe go with a slightly higher V shaped neckline or possibly a boat neck.

I don’t agree with a lot of those clothing choices for your body type I’m afraid but if you find they’re working for you then that’s great. X

I just adore all these looks. I learn so much watching your videos. One thing I wonder though is, what if one doesn’t look good in these colours? Black, tan/camel, bright white make me look dreadful. I look best in blues, plums, softer colours. I wonder if I can achieve these modern timeless looks with a different palette.

Absolutely but you must include the white inbetween to ensure they all go together.
