Not to defend them, but one thing to consider is that in America and many other countries, using steroids is illegal. Where the interviewer gets it wrong...."the average person doesn't have that feeling". No, I think just about every man would like to be muscular and powerful. The average man however is not willing to do what it would take to get there, namely the time investment, and medical risk. I can say as a man who has lived both as a rail thin individual, and later worked my body naturally into an "above average" physique, the difference in the way I was treated my other men and women was profound. Instant respect and deference by other men, and vastly increased attractiveness to women. For reference, Im 6-1, and I went from 155 pounds to 205 pounds at about 15% body fat over a 4 year period. So, big, not huge, and not super ripped. From a lifestyle point of view, physical strength is just enjoyable. It's like a mini super power. It's also an infusion of confidence, which makes you more apt to try new things, and less afraid of failure. The confidence brought more overall happiness to my life. I experienced all of this on a smaller scale than someone on steroids, but I think most men would want it if they could get it easily.

No way he would be 180lbs while that lean naturally. That's how dishonest Mike is, he seems honest because he almost gave exact facts but he's truly not. There are much more accurate formula than given above. You must take into account wrist and ankle size. The average person doesn’t want things like that? There’s a lot of people including myself who aren’t on steroids who would disagree with this wholeheartedly. When I was a kid and teenager I regularly daydreamed about having powers like Goku, Superman, etc. I’m in my 30s now and If I drink a little more caffeine than usual I still end up doing stuff like that. A lot of men love the idea of feeling powerful. Like Dr. Mike said, it’s testosterone.

The heart is a muscle it grows from steroids but the valves do not. Imagine you had a water system designed for 100 psi pressure, with a 100 psi rated valves and pump. Now imagine you put a 200 psi pump in the system with everything rated for 100psi. That’s why heart attacks happen. Valves can’t take the extra pressure

Many pictures of a younger Dr. Mike show him wearing glasses, so contact lenses are a good guess. Some people are more sensitive to them. Steroids can also cause or worsen eye issues (dryness, burning, etc). If my eyes were dry or felt like they were burning, I'd blink constantly and roll my eyes back to try and wet them. As it is, I wear glasses and am terrified of putting anything in my eyes. 😅

Great interview. One of the most thoughtful and articulate meatheads I've ever encountered. I was bullied too, but it was all relational aggression (i.e., not physical). It didn't make me want to get bulky and strong. It made it very difficult for me to trust people, and it made me very reluctant to form casual friendships. Unless I feel very confident that you've got my back, you're just another person. Sometimes, I think the physical bullying route would have been easier.

Good point, but in my opinion it's something else. A lot of steroid users (not the pros) use bad quality stuff for years, mix compounds without knowing how to cycle on and off, don't track their health (scans, blood work, etc). A lot of these people also smoke, drink and do other drugs on the side, eat the worst food possible and generally speaking don't have the discipline to follow fully what this lifestyle requires. Add all of that and yeah, people happen do die earlier than expected.

Cycled for 8 years now. Was 420lbs got down to 190lbs bulked back up to 240lbs and back and forth to build mass. I have a lot of loose skin about 40lbs of loose skin so I’d actually be 200lbs and after my last scan 187lbs not me is pure muscle. Sure gear does amazing things physically, but it also does a lot of negative especially mentally. The damage I’ve done to my system is irreversible. Full body acne that has taken for ever to clear up and still comes back a lot no matter what, liver issues at 32 that put me in the hospital due to my liver enzymes being so low I couldn’t break anything down or filter, kidney issues causing me to piss blood and leak protein into my system in negative ways, I was pre diabetic for close to a year and worst of all at 30 years old right in front of my wife and kids while at a gas station going to a Halloween even I suffered a heart attack that almost took me out. Blood pressure was 210 / 195 by the time I made it to the hospital so I can only imagine how high it was when I was going through it. All I remember was stepping out of my car to pay for the gas, looking at my wife and telling her I don’t feel right, then my middle daughter who was 16 at the time looked at me and asked why I was shaking which I didn’t even realize at the time, then everything just went black… all I remember was the feeling of sever anxiety and a ton of pain in my chest and arms and then I was out like a light shaking on the floor while my family watched helplessly. On top of the physical issues the mental has been even worse especially form Tren. The amount of anger over every little thing is insane, constant anxiety, depression, always thinking my wife is cheating on me when she never even leaves the house, checking her phone every time I hear it ring which is something I’ve never done. The amount of paranoia you get is just insane. It has almost ruined my relationship. It took me a very long time to heal from all that and even now till this day the depression and anxiety has never ever gone away. It has literally ruined me and changed the person I was entirely. I would never recommend steroids to anyone. Unless you are going for an ifbb pro card or power lifting championship then it’s never worth it especially just to look good. You will never heal from the damage these compounds do to you.

It's the long term effects and risks that are the dangerous thing with steroids. Even if you feel great now, you will have shortened your life for certain. For example the telomers of your DNA get shorter if your testosterone levels are higher. The length of the telomers determines how long a person lives even if he doesn't get ill before old age. It is one of the reasons why men live many years shorter than women.
