Except he made his social media career from steroid usage. Do you think if he looked like a natural lifter people would listen to him...? @@i_would_but_i_wontthat’s the problem with steroid use.. I’d say 75% of fitness or lifting influencers on KZbin take steroids and have built their audience with their help.. without the gear very few people would be interested in what they have to say. So basically social media greatly incentivizes steroid use .. I totally get why people take steroids . I mean, do you think Arnold and the Rock regret taking steroids?!? Hell no

Not to defend them, but one thing to consider is that in America and many other countries, using steroids is illegal. Some steroids might be able to be prescribed by a doctor (like testosterone replacement therapy), but the level of steroid use these people need to get super big as a bodybuilder is definitely illegal. So they don’t want to admit to committing crimes on camera.

He's talking about intrusive thoughts caused by massive testosterone increases (which he doesn't like; the problem comes from people who do like such thoughts and act on them). Also, he's one of a few growing fitness professionals who's being properly honest about steroid use, which is important, as there're a lot of celebrities clearly taking PEDs, pretending they're not, creating body standards that are literally only possible with PEDs.

Where the interviewer gets it wrong...."the average person doesn't have that feeling". No, I think just about every man would like to be muscular and powerful. The average man however is not willing to do what it would take to get there, namely the time investment, and medical risk. I can say as a man who has lived both as a rail thin individual, and later worked my body naturally into an "above average" physique, the difference in the way I was treated my other men and women was profound. Instant respect and deference by other men, and vastly increased attractiveness to women. For reference, Im 6-1, and I went from 155 pounds to 205 pounds at about 15% body fat over a 4 year period. So, big, not huge, and not super ripped. From a lifestyle point of view, physical strength is just enjoyable. It's like a mini super power. It's also an infusion of confidence, which makes you more apt to try new things, and less afraid of failure. The confidence brought more overall happiness to my life. I experienced all of this on a smaller scale than someone on steroids, but I think most men would want it if they could get it easily.

He is dishonest. He's a really small man about 165cm, at this kind of bodyfat he could expect to be 70kg/154lbs TOP with around 20% of fat while being natural. Nature is beautifully simple, if you're fit and really muscular the max ratio is rather easy to calculate your size in centimeter gives your weight in kilo 1:1 ratio. 180cm > 80kg when really muscular and really lean. No way he would be 180lbs while that lean naturally. That's how dishonest Mike is, he seems honest because he almost gave exact facts but he's truly not. A natural 165cm muscular guy would look like Bruce Lee, and certainly not like a 80kg beast. :)

There are much more accurate formula than given above. You must take into account wrist and ankle size. You also have to have proper muscle length (insertion points) etc. Formula will often show an average 6' man is capable of attaining just about 200lbs of lean body mass naturally. This is 220lb/100kg at 10% body fat. 180lb is more than reasonable for a man of average (5'10") or below height.

Yeah. Seemed like he asked a question about reasoning behind the wish to get big, but answered it later with his on agenda, didnt actually let Mike finish his own reasoning. You dont need to have objective reasoning to love stuff. I'm personally doing extreme vocals for example. I'm doing this just because it's beautiful and when i first heard it when i was 15 I was immediately obsessed with it. My brain decided for me: "That is the thing." The same goes for lifting. Mike is so agreeable and patient. Which is wild (admirable) given that he has these awful inner violent fantasies from gear. Rare self-awareness. You can tell the interviewer is a bit of a softer Westernized type. I would say at least half of all men can empathize with these thoughts of inner rage and masculine dominance Mike is describing, coupled with the insecurity of being made to appear “less than” in the male social hierarchy. The awe you get from seeing an airplane as a kid, that hit home lol. And it’s stupid as hell to say “most people don’t have these thoughts” when it comes to young boys seeing a superhero like Hulk on screen and wanting to be like them. That’s literally the main appeal of superheroes lol

A lot of steroid users (not the pros) use bad quality stuff for years, mix compounds without knowing how to cycle on and off, don't track their health (scans, blood work, etc). A lot of these people also smoke, drink and do other drugs on the side, eat the worst food possible and generally speaking don't have the discipline to follow fully what this lifestyle requires. Add all of that and yeah, people happen do die earlier than expected.

Cycled for 8 years now. Was 420lbs got down to 190lbs bulked back up to 240lbs and back and forth to build mass. I have a lot of loose skin about 40lbs of loose skin so I’d actually be 200lbs and after my last scan 187lbs not me is pure muscle. Sure gear does amazing things physically, but it also does a lot of negative especially mentally. The damage I’ve done to my system is irreversible. Full body acne that has taken for ever to clear up and still comes back a lot no matter what, liver issues at 32 that put me in the hospital due to my liver enzymes being so low I couldn’t break anything down or filter, kidney issues causing me to piss blood and leak protein into my system in negative ways, I was pre diabetic for close to a year and worst of all at 30 years old right in front of my wife and kids while at a gas station going to a Halloween even I suffered a heart attack that almost took me out. Blood pressure was 210 / 195 by the time I made it to the hospital so I can only imagine how high it was when I was going through it. All I remember was stepping out of my car to pay for the gas, looking at my wife and telling her I don’t feel right, then my middle daughter who was 16 at the time looked at me and asked why I was shaking which I didn’t even realize at the time, then everything just went black… all I remember was the feeling of sever anxiety and a ton of pain in my chest and arms and then I was out like a light shaking on the floor while my family watched helplessly. On top of the physical issues the mental has been even worse especially form Tren. The amount of anger over every little thing is insane, constant anxiety, depression, always thinking my wife is cheating on me when she never even leaves the house, checking her phone every time I hear it ring which is something I’ve never done. The amount of paranoia you get is just insane. It has almost ruined my relationship. It took me a very long time to heal from all that and even now till this day the depression and anxiety has never ever gone away. It has literally ruined me and changed the person I was entirely. I would never recommend steroids to anyone. Unless you are going for an ifbb pro card or power lifting championship then it’s never worth it especially just to look good. It's the long term effects and risks that are the dangerous thing with steroids. Even if you feel great now, you will have shortened your life for certain. Excellent interview! One aspect that was briefly demonstrated, is how incredibly witty and funny Dr. Michaelis , in contrast to how intelligent and articulate he makes a point. I learn something new every time he speaks.

Note he's talking about steroid abuse, not TRT, which is steroids used at a therapeautic level to bring your test to a normal baseline level

Think it s also mental, powerfullness and the desire not to be a piece of shit anymore, it s the whole package. Which is an illusion because steroid provides that just momentarily before all the problems arise

Sometimes interviewers ask or repeat questions in a midly annoying manner to probe what the other person is trying to say. Like trying to "force out" what the other person really thinks. The CEO guy probably did it too much since a couple of comments are about that. But doing that is generally ok, imo. But like many things, doing it too much is inappropriate.

Mad respect to Dr. Mike. The interviewer has a lot of improvements to make; interrupting and asking for the pictures on air (this is a behind the scenes producer request) made for some awkward moments.

I took gear because I hated my body and felt very uncomfortable in my body, despite having lifted naturally for 10 plus years. Fun fact, steroids made me hate my body even more, even though I looked what I would consider “buff” relative to my standards. Getting off them, I still struggle with body dysmorphia, but I’ve seen both sides and I prefer the one that leaves me healthy and promotes longevity.

At 12:30 the weak looking seemingly kind of femieguy tries to tell Mike the Hulk demonstrating his strength isn't appealing to the average male & so either I'm the oddball as is Mike or this guy doesn't have a strong grasp of what masculinity even is or how it feels. I'm a gen Xer so was raised on Stallone! Schwarzenegger, Red Dawn & typical 80s action movies. I've always looked up to those that are the peak of masculinity & the male physique & that seems like it should be the norm & not the exception.
