The song has a really sad theme. With children of the Danube are meant the fish. As an amateur fisherman, Till has a special relationship with nature.

Not only because he likes to go fishing. Till is this calm and almost shy personality in his freetime. He said multiple times he loves to escape the light thats shined on him and the band by going in to the woods or hiking/walking through nature in general.

Yes Till loves being in nature..I read an interview with his mom Birgitte (“Gitta”) Lindemann "He’s painted, already written poetry as a young boy, and later began writing songs and tried his hand at all sorts of musical instruments. But he was also gifted in crafts and very close to nature at that. When he comes home to the village, he likes to go fishing and hunting, or just to sit in the garden and look at nature."

Propably the saddest thing about the whole disaster is that people, or rather the top dogs of the mining companies, haven't learned from it at all and poisonous waste began being disposed of in the rivers again just a couple of months after the incident. By the same company, but now under a different name and through legal trickery, they couldn't even be made liable for the catastrophe.

The Children of the Danube (Where are the children?) ... Of course Till plays with double meaning again. Worried parents and mothers, who can't let their children play near the Water anymore. But with the question about the whereabouts of the children, the children of the danube are meant, the fishes, lobsters and many more... That's why the song is called Donaukinder (>Children of the Danube)

Nice reaction. About your question if anybody got sick. Most likely. Where there any real consequences or reimbursements done by the companies? No, not really. Basically people were left alone. Till sang it:" No one has seen anything." That summs it up. With love from Germany 🤘 😎

There are some beautiful songs like "Amour" Live debut on September 30 2004 (the songs Los and Dalai Lama were also played live for the first time(please react to these songs "Amour" "Los" and "Dalai Lama" The song was last performed live on September 30 2004 the only show where Amour was played outside of the fanclubs shows. Paul described this song as one of the most difficult to play live.
