When he sings "Ich seh’ im Spiegel dein Gesicht" " I see your face in the mirror" hints that the person he’s singing about is actually himself. Maybe this song isn’t about a sadomasochistic relationship, but is rather about self-harm.

Wow, I've never thought about that when listening to the song. That's a nice twist!
@peekaboosue2 жыл бұрын
@@anzu_sl yes to me it makes more sense since Till is known to sacrafice himself physically for the art..the music videos..performances etc. He's been doing that since the beginning like having flake break those long fluorescent light tubes on Tills back..him wearing the burning coat that i think i read weight between 170 to 210 lbs? To the Engel wings 110lbs..to Rosenrot where the flogging they did was real and of course Till had the worst looking back..in mein herz brennt (Piano version) the cuts he has are real...in the video "Ich hasse Kinder" when he's getting hit..during the filming he actually yells out harder because he wanted to look as real as possible...so yeah it would make more sense that he's actually talking about his own self.💕

The term is called Masochist. 🤣🤣🤣I'm sorry, I was laughing so hard, when I saw your facial expressions to the lyrics. Such an awesome song. An absolute banger. And no, I'm not into S&M. There's a little twist in the lyrics. It says he's looking at himself in the mirror. Another reactor once said, Till got some issues and I totally agree on that. But hey, whatever pleases someone on a voluntary basis is OK with me. Now that you know about the content of the song, you should definitely check out the performance of the song at Madison square garden. Absolutely amazing. You'll love it. With love from Germany 🤘 😎

This is a Borderline Song It is about an inner pain that you want to fight by hurting yourself. The part with the barbed wire is of course only a metaphor for the description of the pain and not to be taken literally. As far as I know these two lines with barbed wire in the urinary tract and rodents were also taken so literally 1 to 1 by Till from the famous book American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis were taken

I think this song is about having a relationship that a man (or a woman) treats the other like shit. One loves and adores the other, while the others used that other person as a door mat. Inflicting pain might not be literal, but only in a mental way. We call it "mindfucking someone".

I used to know a girl who was a dominatrix and she said you would be surprised/horrified at some of the requests she used to get, many of which she had to turn down because they were, at the very least, illegal and mostly immoral!! On the plus side, she used to have an immaculate house because she used to make them get on their hands and knees and do all the jobs she hated such as cleaning the oven and scrubbing out the shower. If it wasn't done to her satisfaction she would whip them until it was done right. Everybody's happy!
@bienenkonigin14142 жыл бұрын
Yes you can see things which are kind of disturbing. But they are done in perfect consent and people pay heaps of money to be `mistreated´. There is no official statistics, but be sure someone you know is happily dedicated to it. :) And personally I think whipping a volunteer is not a big deal, but parents beating children or men their wives (vice versa) - THAT is perverted and cruel.

As Fixzeichner wrote: "Till writes his lyrics about everything. He knows no taboos. In interviews he has said his theme is love in every form it can be, tender, normal or perverted." Btw, here in good old Germany BDSM is not presumed to be abnormal, but one of the common sections of human sexuality. Practising consensual BDSM therefore is totally legal and nothing someone would be worried or shocked about - disregarding very oldschool or religious or very stiff people and those who do not dare or are ashamed to have a go to something more unusual. `Fifty shades of Grey´ changed the common credo and handcuffs and crops were sold out. Ok, this book/film isn´t about BDSM (which is under all circumstances practiced in consense) but about emotional abuse, but people took it as an occasion to improve their sex lives. And why not, it´s more fun as long as it´s not abusive. Now Rammstein is opera. They are talking about mankind, not about themselves. Till is changing perspective and personality with every song, he totally slips into the alter ego the songtext is building. That is not him, but his lyrical ego. Everything I heard about him says he is a very nice and calm person. For sure he is a high sensation seeker, but according to the lyrics of "Ich tu dir weh" I assume he is not into BDSM himself. He seems to not have deeper insight as anyone else who is just talking about, but not living it.

Maybe Till has a sick and twisted mind. But i love to think that Rammstein is singing about these topics no other bands would sing about, to shine a light on these topics, which are usually not mentioned at all/swept under the carpet. For example: Weisses Fleisch, Hallelujah, Heirate mich, Mann gegen Mann, and so on.

Masochism-something I can't relate to at all, I simply don't like pain and don't envisage purposely inflicting it upon myself. I do appreciate that others enjoy it and many gain sexual release from it. In that respect, it's no different to the majority of paraphilias that are perfectly legal (there are some that aren't obviously). What is repulsive to one is the ultimate desire to another and for them, sometimes maximum pain achieves maximum pleasure. Rammstein sing about subjects way out of the norm. If you're looking for a hearts and flowers pop song, you're looking at the wrong band. Their subject matter and lyrics intrigue me, they make me think and I applaud them for tackling sensitive subjects. Are they sick and twisted? No. Are they graphic? Sometimes. Do they question society? Yes. This, along with banging musical compositions is why I love them and have done from the start.

I feel the same way and have also voiced my opinion..I mean isnt it possible to pull up the lyrics separately and maybe read the lyrics first or do how some other reactors where they watch the video then when they pause they read the lyrics or wait till the end of the performance than go over the lyrics..so so many awesome live performances being missed here.
