Unbelievable, I've never heard the song, it sounds like 70's Hard Rock and I love the Moog-like keyboard sound. The lyrics are a reworked version of the poem "Mitternacht" (midnight), released by Till in his book "In stillen Nächten" (in silent nights).

Fun Fact: This song has only been played live ONE TIME: And that was for the Premiere Stadium Tour on 5/27/28/2019 in Gelsenkirchen (Germany). Shame really, for such a brilliant song!😫😫😫

I was at the show! The have not been playing this song! They played „sex“ for the first three shows and then kicked it out of the setlist. „Weit weg“ has never been played

Rammstein is my favorite band and seeing someone putting so much tought and paying attention to their messages is amazing!! Rammstein once said they make songs about love in all kinds of forms. They haven't had the subject of peeping toms yet. Overall, I like the music and Till's lyrics. The metaphorical imagery in the song is just great. "Paints his colors into her picture" describes how he imagines being with her at that moment.

I know this is knit-picking here but "Gläser" doesn't translate to "glasses" in the sense of "goggles" but rather the material or the vessel. In this case I think it refers to "binoculars". If you look at it like that, he's standing "far away" but still is "so close" with her. Good example of the lost nuance in translation.
