It surprises me that 2 guys who look so similar in terms of their physical build up, can react so differently to the cold water... obviously Ross is used to the cold water and he can deal with it better mentally, but better mental control doesnt stop you shivering and shaking surely ? Isn't this a physical rather than a mental thing ? or does the body acclimatise physically to the conditions ? Yea it does. I live in a country that gets very cold. I grew up with my mom sending us out during the winter to snowbathe in our undies. I've icebathed many times and I quite enjoy it and ye you can control it. A less severe cold but still cold where I can do it as well is if it's windy and raining in low temperatures (like close to 0 degrees celsius) I can stop shivering and to an extent also the cold feel just by breathing and concentrating or rather "letting go" .
