As a soldier, this was very fascinating to watch! 😂 the ration packs that we call ‘rat packs’ are boil in the bag meals, so you should have filled your saucepans with water and boiled the food. Also there are two types of biscuits, ones to make you go and one to stop you going to the toilet😂

I’m a army cadet. When cooking the ration packs , you keep them in the bag. Then you put water in the pan and then boil the bag. Then you can use the water to make a hot drink like the coffee and tea in the see through bag. This shit is good in the field because when your running around with a massive bag, you get hungry very easily.

I'm in the RAF and have lived on these rations. There's quite a few variations on what the boxes contain but I've never had a bad meal or gone hungry from them. All of the meals can be eaten hot or cold but they have to be completely warmed if so, they're made up from bacteria which is killed if heated sufficiently or isn't distributed when consumed cold. The British are renowned for having some of the best rations in the world and I can vouch for that
