This guy has an almost superhuman commitment and perseverance. Humans can do truly incredible things if they put their mind to it. I know for a fact there’s no chance I could do what he did, but I know his brain is no different to mine. He is just one of those special people who can tap into his willpower and mental strength and completely control it. It’s amazing. Just think for a second feeling freezing cold, tired, exhausted, sore and say you’d only swam 10 days and had another 140 to go. Remarkable.

Yeah he looks and sounds cuddly, but dont let it fool yu. This guy is a monster. In sport science long distance swimming is generally acceoted as the most physically difficult for the human body due to the energy demands, the bacterial infections, the thermoregulation. Humans simply arent meant to spend that much time in the water. To say hes the aquatic goggins does him a disservice. He is leagues beyond goggins. If yu dont believe me, ask why goggins didnt start long distance swimming after he lost his running knees.
