As the former wife of an addict, I agree. Of course it's possible he is abusive or something, but I didn't sense that kind of fear from her. It's telling that she refused to call *anyone* in her life (not just husband), even under threat of being arrested. The people close to her have probably had enough of the lies and worrying about her, and her husband will be stuck sharing the fallout of her arrest, job loss, and ruined career. She was trying to delay facing any of that for as long as she possibly could. Maybe this will finally be her rock bottom.

She didn't even have anyone who would be willing to come pick her up. She also said she was carrying an AirBnB key, and she didn't want to call her husband, so things must not be going well at home. That poor lady. She must lead a very isolated lifestyle. Maybe that's part of why she drinks. Or maybe she's isolated *because* she drinks and pushes everyone away--that's a possibility, also. They honestly should have intervened sooner though. If the time stamps on the video are correct, they were questioning her at the very end of the school day. If she had taken anti anxiety medication and was drinking throughout the entire day, there's no way that nobody noticed until the end of the day. The kids, a teaching assistant, a coworker, someone would have noticed she was acting funny and smelled like a winery. Yes, they did the right thing by confronting her, keeping her from driving home, firing her, and charging her with public intoxication. But they really could have and should have done more. They should have intervened sooner. Allowing her to continue supervising an entire class of 3rd graders while she was clearly under the influence is crazy and frankly extremely dangerous. She should have been charged with child endangerment for every student in her class. She also should have been charged for tampering with evidence for trying to wipe out the residue from her wine cup when the men left the room for a moment. Yes, she deserves sympathy for struggling with addiction, but she also really needs to be held accountable for making the decision to knowingly endanger other people children. I feel like the high ups in this school did a good job once they took action, but I just wish they has done so much sooner. 🫤🤷‍♀️

@@jasonrhodes9726 Perhaps she taught you because you dont seem to know what you are seeing. She is teaching while drunk, that is not a very good impression on the kids. She has a responsibilty and has crossed the line and only thinks of herself instead of her responsibilities and actions. Sher may think it is fine hiding in a bottle (or carton) of wine and going to teach. A person who is drunk does not have their faculties intact and have impaired reactions and thoughts. If she is in school teaching while intoxicated and something serious happened at the school like a fire and the alarms are going off, she might not be in the right frame of mind to help the children stay calm and get them to safety. She doesnt even want her husband and friends to find out she is an alcoholic. She is nt ready to get help, even though she sees a therapist. Her downfall is her own fault.

I only noticed that when she made the claim that she last drank at 3:00am, which I was questioning the possibility of that having any effect on a breathalyzer test 5-6 hours later. Then I looked at the time stamp and saw how late in the day it was. She was at school all day and blew ~.24 BAC at the end of the day. My mom was an alcoholic, I feel for this woman, but also as a teacher I'm horrified. The person in the classroom with the kids NEEDS to have a grip on themselves- they are responsible for the safety of the kids. The kids probably knew she was drinking too because they pick up on a lot more than what people think

This might have saved her life. So many go through hiding addicts addiction noth thinking it makes then enablers. An enabler is not any better. Her husband had to know. He was at least an enabler. Her not wanting to call him makes you wonder was he more 🤔 Was she afraid of him. I sure hope this is not a DV case, because she lost her job and is now more dependent on her husband.

She should have respectfully resigned on the spot, called an uber, left and figured out how to tell her husband and seek help to proceed in life thereafter. But they gave her too much time and she knew what she was doing. I'm compassionate but I really feel she thought the tears with two men and stalling would save her. They gave her an opportunity to handle it discreetly and she played.

Pretty sure she was more afraid of her husband’s reaction than losing her job. That’s the vibe I was getting. But regardless she certainly should have just been honest with it all.
