Hello, thank you for making so informative Videos. After following the build series for the Xray X4 while building mine I now need help with the bodyshell. Are the mounting positions for the bodyshells in the video the same on the X4. Are there more bodyshells you tried on the X4. Thanks

Hi Alex, how much do you cut away under the speciale body for the x4. What holes are you using in the front and rear posts and what clearance should I have for asphalt racing? I just trying to fit this body to my new x4 23. Iam using the vertical rear posts btw. Hope you can help me out! ❤😅

Take a look at this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epmbdYeDjayab9E The Twister is almost identical to the Speciale hence why this video applies very well. As for the holes on the bodyposts with the Speciale on an X4'23: Front: 7th, +1, o-ring Rear: 7th +1 If you want to use horizontal posts, there's good info here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXqtfaGfaaqpa9E

Hi Alex, how does some of the more recent bodies, like LensBodies, to Twister and Speciale?

Hi, the Lens Ghibli 1.0 and 2.0 are somewhat comparable to the Xtreme Twister body in terms of handling. There's more info about it here: site.petitrc.com/reglages/bodyshell/setup/Touring/Ghibli2.0_AlexanderHagberg_20240308/

@@hagberg That's super helpful. Thank you so much. I see you are using vertical rear body post, instead of horizontal. Is that just preference or is there a noticeable handling difference?
@hagberg5 ай бұрын
@joneskimracing2932 Horizontal will make the car flatter (reduced roll) but will have a faster direction change. Vertical will make the rear end feel more "in the track". The horizontal is recommended for spec racing for most conditions. Vertical is recommend for modified racing for fast and flowing tracks, and lower grip.

Are these mounting dimensions the same for the X4?

What's the difference between the Twister and the Speciale version, and which version is closest to the 'lightweight' bodies we've usaed in the past, not the ultra flimsy bodies?
@hagberg3 жыл бұрын
The difference between the Twister and Speciale is mentioned in the video. 0.7mm probably compares the best in weight and thickness to the old Protoform Lightweight bodies! 0.5/0.6mm is definitely considered as flimsy!

@@hagberg Thanks. THe very thin bodies just aren't strong enough for my driving lol

Hi Alexander, have you tried the Bittydesign Hyper, and your thoughts if so? Cheers.
@hagberg3 жыл бұрын
I have not, I'm afraid. The feedback I've heard is that it's something in between the Twister and Speciale in terms of balance.

@@hagberg Thanks for the info and quick reply, you are a great asset to XRay with your presence and helpfulness on social media so many thanks for that! I have a T4 '21 alu flex ready to build so I'm trying to absorb as much info as possible! Cheers.

What happened to protoform?

They didn't release any bodyshells for racing in quite some time. The P63-N is still around and used by some TC racers at a competitive level!
