I know the B707 from my duty as flight attendant by the Flugbereitschaft BMVg (Luftwaffe) in Cologne from 1981 until 1984. I love this aircraft. We mainly flew it to Winnipeg (YWG), Washington D.C. (DUL) and El Paso (ELP). Sometimes there were also VIP flights and aid flights to Africa.

First attempt for landing was not miss.go around was for training. because handling and control AWACKS is very difficult it has many limits speed, rotation of dish , head wind, cross wind,air-to-Air refueling ..... Finally : LONG LIFE 707s

They have the new tanker Boeing KC-46A Pegasus. Look like they would consider this airframe and modern engines building a new Airwacs. They have to be spending heavily on the maintenance and upgrade.

Nice to see this footage together!!! The 707 was an achievement. Airbus, Boeing, and Antonov all proposed an offer for aerial fueling to the US Air Force some time back to replace older aircraft. Boeing got the contract but I would have loved to seen a modified twin turbo fan version of the AN-70 get the job.

You mean the KC-390? :) The KC-390 is a perfect tanker for smaller air forces. A nice cheap gas tank in the sky for those who don't need a 100,000 lb gas tank. If all you do is small cargo aircraft, and fighters like the Mig-21 (if it can refuel), JAS-39, or A-4, the KC-390 is a perfect fit. For most air forces the KC-47 and KC-135 are just too big and expensive.

Air-Clips.com AN-112KC. It was one of the submitted proposal aircraft for the USAF KC-X program to replace the aging KC-135 aircraft. If you google search it takes you to the Wikipedia page for the AN-70 under variants.

I have no idea about whether the onboard electronics packages could still be considered 'state of the art', in military terms, but the B-707 airframes have become ancient. The U.S. Air Force is in the process of replacing it's K-135 air-to-air refueling tankers, from this old 707 air frame to a more recently designed aircraft, for service, based on the B-767, which, in it's own right, isn't exactly new by any means.
