Boeing 737-800 in the cruise at FL400 (40 000 feet)

This is a JNB to CPT flight in South Africa. We were up against some headwinds heading in this direction. The predominant winds up here are westerly and north westerly. Flight on 21 May 2023.

No we reached the top of descent point and the aircraft began its descent as per normal with the autopilot engaged :)

yes, its because of the wind (72 knots of headwind)
