Flaps 17 and 18?!!? Never seen this on Boeing. Awesome aircraft.
@Acepilot13124 жыл бұрын
Aykut Kahveci well, this proves that this is a Boeing 787-9. Flaps 17 and 18 were introduced on the 787-9 and 787-10 to further increase its take-off performance by finding the exact performance they need. This is how you could differentiate with a 787-8 and other variants, the former lacks Flaps 17 and 18 settings. It only has Flaps 15 and 20. Even though they hid the registration i can tell that this is an Aeromexico Boeing 787-9. :)

737 manuals, charts/table are much easier to learn. Yes, both airbus and boeing have advantages and disadvantages, but for me 737 is a lot easier and much more fun to control and fly. And don’t forget how simple the 737ng’s cdu to operate 🤣. And I can’t find hand drawn illustration in 737ng manuals like I found in a330’s 🤣🤣🤣

101Xander not sure about that. But how airbus (a330) manuals presented are awful for me. I know airbus has different method to handle failure, but when we come to the QRH, as the name, you have to do it “QUICK”, the airbus’ QRH are “not meant to be read at cockpit in bad situation” 🤣. As monkey like me, which even monkey can fly, the manuals are supposed to be easy to read, especially in emergency situation.

I’m amazed at how the EFB where there are physical buttons… it’s a touchscreen. But the virtual CDU where there is no physical button… it’s not a touchscreen and you have to used the cumbersome scroll wheel or the touchpad to move the cursor. I shall slow clap for Boeing 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
@ClaysonAntoons6 ай бұрын
As if the A350 dont have similar, virtual FMS with KCCU usage, requiring the use of the trackball and has touchscreen EFB. The 787 virtual CDU was supposed to be a touchscreen but the FAA didn't allow for the capacitive touchscreen back in the mid 2000s when the 787 was still under development. Hence we had to resort to the rotary cursor control knob or cursor control device (trackpad). The 777X is coming with the touchscreen alongside the rotary knob.
@tonamg536 ай бұрын
@@ClaysonAntoons if you look at A350 CDU the interface has been specifically designed to be use with trackball. Its not a “virtual” CDU, its a “re-designed” CDU Boeing version is a “virtual” CDU that was designed to be used with physical buttons.
@ClaysonAntoons6 ай бұрын
@@tonamg53 Alright. Re-designed CDU. The main point is many of the A350's FMS/MFD ain't touchscreens either and also requires the use of a mouse (although the trackball is better than the trackpad) to navigate certain systems just like with the 787 CDU/MFD and isn't unique to it. It's a modern day thing where some physical hardware like physical CDUs/MCDUs goes away on newer designs. I will admit Airbus has the better setup.

Ive never been a fan of the 787 FMC. It’s just a software version of the 777 by the looks of it. They could have greatly expanded its size and capability like the A380 or A350 one
@Acepilot13124 жыл бұрын
Yeah, really, the 787 FMC looks shit to me. They did the same thing with 737 MAX and also with the 777X. Why are they so lazy to improve the things? Looks like Airbus is now leading the way in innovation, and by that I mean Brake-To-Vacate (BTV) and touch inputs and all the other improvements with high pilot comfort in mind. Boeing now really need to step their game up, but, you have to consider one thing, the 787 came before the A350 and was launched in 2008, so the A350 would be far more advanced it is expected, but, about the 777X, I am completely disappointed. :(

Sapphire Fazle Rahman but they A380 came before the 787 and that has the bigger display for FMS
@Acepilot13124 жыл бұрын
Thomas Mortimore yes brother, I knew someone would point this out. Yes, the A380 came before the 787 but you also have to note that the A380 was built with a huge budget and was an aircraft that would change the way people look at airplanes. Thus, Airbus had the guts and went all in with the A380. Boeing, not so much, because they were facing many difficulties at the moment.

I am not a pilot so I would like to hear a commercial pilots opinion, should Boeing have put in side sticks instead of yokes or even center sticks like the C-17?
@nickksamaco Жыл бұрын
I mean, they could have, but they won't. Not only is it a mark in boeing's history to use yokes, introducing sidestick operation would require addition training which means additional $$$, and would have taken much longer to develop and implement into the plane, which would delay the release of the 787. Adding a stick would have been unnecessary work/time/$$$ so they just did yokes
@GBelly-tf9sq Жыл бұрын
Sidesticks have one serious flaw. There is no tactical feedback of what the autopilot is doing. Many pilots I’ve met in my career want that feedback, and a control column does that by use of backdrive actuators in all 3 axis’s. Airbus has none, just flight director feedback. Read up on the Air France 447 crash into the Atlantic. Lack of tactile feedback and Airbus’s side stick priority logic killed them all.
@ClaysonAntoons7 ай бұрын
