I retired from American Airlines in 2001 after thirty four years as an A&P mechanic. I started on the 707 and then on to the 727, 747,757,767. Once retired, I got to fly on the 737, which the company did not buy, and the incredible 777. Since the 787 took to the sky's, I have yet to experience her. However, I have are lot to look forward to. Hopefully, before I leave this life, supersonic flight will once again become a reality. For those of us who spent most of their lives lucky enough to be a part of aviation, I am grateful that the airplane has shrunk our world and united the people of the home we all call planet Earth.

I have flown in both the 787 and the A350 and I understand why people compare both aircraft. MaidenAirTM Hmm, that is a very narrow, misguided view. You have to realize that the 787 was originally designed by Boeing to accommodate 8 abreast seating but it was the AIRLINES that decided to squeeze 9 seats for more profit. I appreciate both Boeing and Airbus but facts should matter. In fact, it is Airbus that is giving their airline customers the option of 11 abreast seating in the latest version of the A380. How could that be comfortable on long haul flights?
@bboyjunyor6 жыл бұрын
Educate yourself! the A350 is wider! Beautiful airliner and best company. Boeing is an example of honesty, selflessness and moral integrity. We need more companies like Boeing who are putting safety ahead of profit and always innovate to make a new generation of airplanes safer than their heritage. The 787... I admire the absolute workmanship of the hull section overlap joints and fasteners. They are so proud of their work that they have their customers worldwide just look in awe at these structural components more often than before. And don't get me started on that really innovative battery containment box. It's a work of art. How graciously it separates all these Lithium Ion cells. Next time I fly the 787, I will bring my parachute in case I get a free upgrade to a structural inflight breakup experience. 😍

I have flown on 787 with Ethiopian (first time with this company), being a frequent flier, it was the best crossing of the atlantic ocean ever. I found very comfortable configuration with excellent leg space (I am 6 feet) , the improved air humidity was something I noticed, feeling much better , to my delight, the plane had very good space as well for overhead cabin suitcase/backpacks compartments, really excellent on this. there are airliners that really make a fuss to travellers due to this, excellent entertainment system and flight info as well. I found also the bathrooms being more roomy than average,- a very welcomed thing. The crew has more space for preparing the meals, helping the quality of their service. In all, the windows adjustable tint instead of moc¿ving shades was superb,, all cabin not disturbed by excess of sun light. I slept incredibly well being in economy. The plane its like a swan, its long wings evidenced this is something very new high tech., now I UNDERSTAND why we did not suffer of any turbulence, there is also new technology for this. Also important, the remarkable lower level of noise inside the cabin, felt like reading a book at iat home. GREAT plane, resulting in a new level of client satisfaction . I want to fly again on this.

Enjoyed this video, in fact I really like this channel and the work you do. Some of the aviation content on KZbin. As for the 787, it is now my favorite aircraft to fly on. It is comfortable, even in economy class (I have literally flown around the world on this aircraft, with BA).Great cabin environment, for all the reasons that you gave. As result, I find that I arrived at my long haul destinations much more fresh than on previous aircrafts. More than likely due to this and to the quieter cabin. Another thing that I have noticed, though this maybe more a coincidence based on the flights that I was on, but the airframe’s construction seems to help dampen the effects of moderate turbulence. Aesthetically, the plane is beautiful to look at, especially its wings in flight. They are such a clean and efficient design. All and all, I am enthusiastic about this plane. Once more thank you for making this well produced video.

The other guy folded his nameplate over the table. I wonder which one is an engineer.

It is so silent when it flies over my home. It sounds like a private jet. I would like to see this aircraft in Turkish Airlines' colors next year.

I flew on this airplane. It looked great! There was a great IFE, a window that didn't need a shade to seal off light from the sun, it looked something from the future, except it was actually living in the present!

SUPERB video about a SUPERB airliner - the Boeing 787-8, -9, and -10!!! Nevertheless, the Boeing 747 also remains quite impressive. Thumbs UP to Boeing!
