Basically, to get republicans on board with adding an amendment to remove that loophole you have to make it clear that the sitting president would rather get his hands dirty, than to leave it up to chance if the next president wants to use the same power to finalise the transition away from democracy. If they immediately rectify the loophole, there won't be any need for Biden to go through with it. But if he's unwilling to even point out what rights republicans are trying to afford *him* then he's not calling their bluff.
@512Squared
@512Squared 5 ай бұрын
@@ChineduOpara I rather think it's both. MAGA represents the elevation of ignorance, dishonesty and spitefulness as a political platform, while moderates and undecided more often than not play a game of false equivalences while seemingly trying to stay on the fence when in reality we must set a boundary and a standard for what is considered 'fair game' in the landscape of bitter politics. In the end though, the problem is both created and exacerbated by poor and corrupt leadership. Voters bestow only permission to govern; how leaders then govern is down to their own conscience and the people that advise them.

Ehhh... This is unfair. When a lawyer is arguing a particular issue on appeal, he / she is required to *only* discuss the issue being appealed. In this case, that means only arguing the absolute immunity. He may well bring up other defenses at trial. For example, if someone was arrested for 1st degree murder, and filled an appral arguing that evidence was collected improperly, the lawyer would be prohibited from arguing "My client is innocent."

So the judge has asked openly of his defense to offer actual justification of the result of their thought process. (Hint: there is none)

That airplane fiasco is a prime example of why we need to stop letting corporations control everything. They will cut costs whenever and wherever until you get to the point where you have everything being done by one Aussie pushing a cart (Futurama reference). They are the ones that think you can "do more with less". I'm sorry, but no, no you can not. The same amount of work still needs to be done, no matter how you try to delegate it. If you dump twice the workload on somebody, they still have to spend the same amount of time on both jobs to get them done properly. For those corporate heads, it's all chasing numbers for profits to them. Not doing quality work and taking the time to do complete check offs before sending the plane airborne. It's basically like that everywhere you look now. You can tell when a company is cutting corners when you get horrible customer service.

Even among Republicans there are many who do not believe Trump is a good leader and who have flipped in elections to vote against him. Trump has relied on doubling down on the MAGA base in election after election and he is not going to have the votes this time either as long as the rest of us don't get complacent. especially all ballot candidates including House and Senate, state legislatures, governors, city and county counsels, school boards… if there is a tie or not a clear presidential winner, the election is decided by the House with each state’s representatives making one vote. if that had happened (one of the plans last election) there are more ‘red states than ‘blue’ states and our president would not have been the one who gave us infrastructure etc. the make it 1800’s efforts are to take over from the inside. must have legislatures that will certify the actual voter’s votes.
