LATAM is ordering more Boeing 787 Dreamliners to advance its fleet and begin serving more locations. Meanwhile, Emirates has returned to another city in Australia as it looks to develop its network, and Etihad Airways will launch more routes as it begins to rapidly increase its overall coverage worldwide.

The 787 has worked out better for LATAM than the A350 ever did. The latter was too big for their network, smart move. Their loss was a great gain for Delta, which is doing well with the A350 in their network.

Probably opening up these new markets was seen as too risky for them in order to commitment fully. At least this is a solution for both, LATAM and Delta.

@@mandandi For a long time 767 user like LATAM, A350 may be too big and too expensive. They don't really need anything bigger than 789 other than from Brasil, but even there 78J may do the job.

Etihad does fly to Toronto my man. I came here with etihad last year after a trip. And they started their A350 service quite a while ago

Boeing had increased the MTOW of the 787-9 and 787-10 to give them more range or capacity

I think 787 range was enough . 787-8/9/10 range and avianics were already very hi-tech. And if there is 787ER/LR it will just small changes

It was said that that there's not much room for MTOW raise for 787 because of the overweight issues, and the rumored MTOW raise from 254t to 260t should gain the aircraft roughly 1 hour further of range.

Air NZ have ordered a high gross weight version of the 787 10, first unit is expected 2025, to increase range for the airlines Pacific Rim operations. This was done to avoid introducing a completely new aircraft type...

36 x LD3 container capacity each, as far as I know between 787 9 & A350 900. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, which I'm certain you will...

They probably got more from Delta for those second hand 350s, than they're shelling out for brand new 787s. Boeing earn a dime a piece on them............
