The reason for the delayed funding is because Lockheed has undue influence and sucks up acquisition money for their F35 program at the expense of F15EX and other programs.

Boeing: Over budget, Behind schedule, Poor quality. Its a shame the US has to depend on a failed manufacturer for such a critical aircraft. Given that the plane entered service almost half a century ago I expect Boeing to get it almost right eventually.

What are you talking about? The Eagle took its maiden flight in July 1972, and entered service in 1976. It is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat
