There was too much cloud cover so they focused on the crowd. I was in Boerne and you couldn’t see the eclipse, only experience the darkness.

Love that the cameraman focused on the crowd for a change. It really is an emotional experience. I watched on the news, and one channel just showed the sun in half a dozen places, and after you've seen it once it gets boring. But the reaction of the crowd, and seeing the whole sky go dark in seconds - THAT is magic.

@@anthony-lw6ji Look again ... these people weren't looking at the totality. When the eclipse reaches totality is the only time you can do this. And it will be totally dark at that time. But gauging totality is iffy. The people I was watching were looking up into the clouds ... and that doesn't protect you. I watched it with the special glasses and only saw it when there were breaks in the clouds. Don't risk your eyesight.

Am a muslim and am feeling very sorry for you people , about andthis attitude to a solar eclipse. It looks just a natral event but what God wants to tell you never ever think about it. This is a reminder about the beginning of the judgement day. As it is mentioned in Holy Quran that , God says, the sun and the moon both will lost their light and I will gather them , and at that day there will be no way to escape for any one. Am not preaching here but just want to tell you that on this occasion, our prophet never came out open from his house and during all this time he paid the prayers until the event ends. This was his routine during all his life. And if you think the he didnt knew about the nature and its dynamics then , read the holy quran, where it is mentioned 1445 years ago that this universe is created because of a big bang, universe is continuously expanding, earth, sun, moon and every object in space is orbiting and each and every one is traveling to its destination. Its not possible for moon and sun to catch or to stuck each other. And much more there is for you if you consider. Kind regards.

This is darker than my city Phoenix at night on any night! I haven’t seen the density of the stars since 1994, I lived in a town in Arkansas of 401 people growing up and I remember how many stars are really in the sky,most people here have never witnessed true darkness and the density of the stars!

Because you would like to see how the surroundings suddenly got dark, to see how it feels to be there. There was a live feed from NASA as the moon progresses to eclipse the sun during this broadcasts. They could have insert it I guess like the other channels.
