Reminds me a bit of a gamekeeper who worked on the estate where I was farming went against my warnings & took a huge David Brown tractor from the yard & went into a bit of wood & stuck it in a spring fed swamp. This horrible maggot of a guy was always ignoring my advice & permissions to take machines so this time I was determined to make sure he learned a lesson & the threat was that the boss would find out what he had done. He came to me as I was ploughing in the field up the top of the hill asking for a tow so I helpfully went with him to find the tractor sunk so deep the mud was level with the hood & the only way in & out was via the back window. I refused to even attempt go anywhere near it with my tractor & a tow was not an option. I made him dig the tractor out which he did, all around it which took him several days plus he had to maintain a gas powered pump to keep the water down. When I went back with him, I then told him he needed to dig a long ramp for me to be able to tow the machine out along...that took him another week with a spade & a bucket. Two weeks in & I hooked a chain to it & pulled him out. The hole he dug was so big it became a duck pond!
