In my capacity as a poultry farmer I recently purchased Gumboots. I was sadly reminded of the level of comfort and warmth. They are cold, uncomfortable on your soles. Light bulb moment $15 pair of gel inner soles and thick socks has made them 5 times better. Very good video mate, it's a subject we forget all about until we're crying cold n wet..

I'm in the dairy industry.. try the Blundstone steel cap Grey gumboots in the acid and heat proof Souls they're about 70 to $80 they already come with high quality gel Innes.. because they're acid proof they have a lining inside of them that keeps you well warm... they are by far just as comfy and warm as them silly Borg things, if you'd like to go a step further bye the white blundstones gumboot for the fishing industry.. for the cray fisherman wear them over this way very comfortable and very warm!
@trueaussieray90932 жыл бұрын
Spending upwards and over 15 hours a day in these boots mostly everyday I can tell you they are very comfortable, your local work and safety supply shop should stok them, don't reckon there'd be at Bunnings

I've just bought the mid height bogs after much research. I have bought mine for the end of a day camping in wet conditions. I also bought mine should I find myself in snow conditions. They are extremely comfortable, comfortable enough to wear all day should you need to, so easy to put on and take off to the point you don't need to use your hands. Mine were on sale for $107.
@robbiefishing Жыл бұрын
What a great buy. I love mine. They've started wearing out inside though. I will need to buy new ones at some stage. They're still fully functional, and have done a LOT of work, but the lining inside has finally started to west out.

G'day Robbie, Boggs look and feel great but for me they were a bit expensive so I was looking at buying standard gum boots and then at Easter by chance I was at the Murrabit market and found a stall selling an Italian branded version of Boggs style boots that have the rubber all the way to the top of the boot and fur lined for only $80, I have since worn them twice on all day fishing trips and I can say they are very comfortable and as you say they keep your feet warm when standing in cold water, the only difference with them is they are probably about an inch shorter than Boggs. So in conclusion this style of boot feels the best for me and if I was to take up wading into water I think I will invest in some waders. Another interesting topic there Robbie, you keep coming up with some useful info vids, doing a great job, Cheers mate.

Thanks so much Daryl, theyres nice denying the Bogs a expensive. It sounds like you found yourself a bargain though mate.

21 years in the dairy industry I can tell you I'm in gumboots for up to 15 hours a day most days, Blundstone steel capd ,acid proof Souls, rubber boots are my go to, retail for around $70 they are very heavy but some of the best value for money boots on the market comfortability and durability for their prices makes them first pic for me. We flushed them bogs down the toilet where I come from.. in the cattle industry steel caps gumboots the best thing since sliced bread we get roughly 12 months of everyday use out of a set of Blundstone gumboots
@robbiefishing2 жыл бұрын
Haha flush bogs down the toilet. 🤣🤣 I agree, gumboots are excellent value, and especially the Blundstones. I had a couple of lair of them, non steel capped and wore them.for years. They seemed to just go on, and on and on. LOL

This was a good insight into the choices. Thanks for this mate. It's a bit sad when I see something like this on a channel from the US as they'll have 6 brands with 3 or 4 different types per brand to choose from :( . The joys of 300 million vs 25 million population I suppose. The upshot is I'll dream of insulated waders like Frogg Toggs and the like and then drag out my gummies. lol

Hey Robbie, a very good and informative presentation. After watching it carefully and looking at the comments others have been making I noticed there was no comment about any kind of snake proof or snake protection. Are they thick enough to prevent any strikes getting through your vipers down-under. Blessings to you and your family and let’s hope you keep the good videos coming they are fun educational interesting and great viewing. From the Great Smoky Mountains of WNC, USA.

I wear 2 layers of thick socks that go up just underneath my knees. This makes the gumboots more comfortable, and it makes up for the padding they don't have, plus it reduces condensation as the sock acts as an insulation between the heat source and the cold source, the leg and the boot. In addition, it's all far cheaper as well, so to me at least it's a win win win.
