I've got the Bogs craftsman. I've had them for over a year. I walk about 5kms a day and these boots look as good as the day I bought them. Best pair of boots I've ever owned.

I purposely buy boots a bit larger than I would like because I wear thick socks for extra cushion and for more insulation for Maine winter use. I just deal with hot boots in summer time. Marino wool socks are not cheap, but they are great for this purpose.

I wear the low rise bogs at work, I work for a pork processing plant. They do work well in that environment as well

Love mine ♥️ I have 3 pairs. We farm chickens, cows, & have horses. In Delaware we have lots of mud and all 4 seasons of weather. Most times I wear them all day every day.

Try the Bogs Bozeman boot. It’s seamless and 30% lighter with a -72 temp rating. Also another good option would be the workman seamless.

Most of my work shoes wear out the heal, after a year or so. So I started using a shoe horn to put on my boots, stopped the heal wear. I think that putting on the boots causes this problem. I also have a boot jack to take them off, so much easier. I wear a 13 wide and was wondering how the medium width fits? Could not find a wide in Bogs boots.

Yea a shoe horn would work GREAT!!!!!

I have the same Bogs as your original pair and after four years I wore down the heel. I still wear them from time to time but I decided to get a new pair which I have found to be way more durable. I have the workman low composite toe (I use for heavy duty work, tractor work and snow plowing) very warm not too heavy. Then I bought a pair of Bozeman Yulex for my wife who finds the men’s fit more comfortable but then her foot shape size changed while pregnant and so I wear those now as my main snow boot for play with my 9 year old. The Bozeman and workman both have extra fabric at the ankle just above the heel that kind of sucks your foot into place. I believe that was to limit the amount of foot movement while walking without making the boot too difficult to put on or step into; that may fix your heel problem (the classics don’t have this heel pad).

What are your thoughts on Bozeman vs Workman if you don't mind me asking? I'd assume the Workman is more work driven, but is it actually better?
@IGmeanwell
@IGmeanwell Жыл бұрын
@@alextorkelson the short answer is the Yulex Bozeman I have are incredibly warm, flexible but not much in terms of protection. The Workman are aimed at protecting your feet, however they are still warm with more insulation in the bottom of the foot so if your on concrete or ice the cold takes much longer to carry through the rubber to your foot. Finally the workman has way more aggressive tread and in general more stiff from its hard toe. Both are amazing for the coldest conditions in the foothills of the Adirondacks where I reside but the workman are not great for play and the Bozeman are more aimed at work/play where you don’t need protection. Also the Bozeman feel more sneaker like.

@@IGmeanwell Definitely appreciate the reply, that helps a LOT! Thank you. I'm personally a residential electrician in MN so probably identical weather to Adirondacks, and I'm often standing on concrete for long periods of time for devicing. Composite toe hasn't been necessary for me, but cold carrying through the rubber sounds like Workman's maybe a no brainer lol. I'm tempted to buy both types just for testing purposes, I'm kind of hoping Bozeman + 'Darn Tough' (brand) boot socks do the trick.
@IGmeanwell
@IGmeanwell Жыл бұрын
@@alextorkelson the workman plus the darn tough mountaineer socks are my go to below 0F and it’s super cozy. They also have a workman soft toe, well I only have the composite I can’t imagine the difference is that different other than added flexibility. I love Darn Tough socks, the main factory is about 90 minutes from us and we have a local outfitter. For the coldest temps I stick with their mountaineers or the hunters … haven’t tried their work oriented ones yet.

@@IGmeanwell Feeling like an absolute rookie right about now.. didn't even NOTICE heavyweight mountaineer exist, absolutely awesome lol - just ordered Mountaineer and again super appreciate it. Been using Darn Tough midweight, and as of today - midweight Darn Tough + Bogs Bozeman and feet were toasty while it was 25 out. Looks like I'll be having fun experimenting Mountaineer + Bozeman soon - potentially to find out Workman boots were a must..

My company supplies bog boots but I always thought they had a durability issue, as after 3 months holes would start appearing in the sole and the waterproofong would be completely shot. Maybe my company just bought the cheapest kind of bogs.

11 months doesn't sound like a long life for a boot BUT when you do the math to find out what you pay per use + the warranty, it's not so bad. $140/334 days = $0.42 per day to use the boots for 11 months
@BetterTogetherLife

Well, actually it’s 11 months TIMES TWO, sense I should be able to get at least another 11 months out of these brand new pair of boots. Which just came in! 😁

I wonder if there is some sort of extra comfortable patch that you could lay on the inside heel section of the boot that could be replaceable and would take the brunt of the wear to extend the life of the booth. It also comes to mind that perhaps your lack of socks sometimes puts the wear directly from the heel to the boot. Where if you wore socks, that would act as the patch i described above, perhaps the boots life would dramatically be lengthened. I love this section where you mindfully thinking through the right foot and then the left foot then the left foot and the right foot, that was hilarious. Very refreshingly real videos.

I guess because you're wearing them constantly, you're getting a lot of hours out of them for the price you paid, getting your money's worth for sure. Whether they can reinforce the heal with more stitching is something you'll have to take up with them. Because you're a heavy user they might listen. I wear the heals out in my shoes, there are some heel products you can fit into the shoes to stop that.

To the auther of this channel.. Im on my 4 th year of my winter Bogg boots.. No other boots except DUNLOP made it this far.. My work is serious farming .👩‍🌾.. logging ...🪓 An comercial construction...👷 The secret of boots is to know what you need 🤔 for the work your doing 👢 My BOOGS are good to -40 below 🥶 ☃️ Thats the job i ask them to do... I dont wear them when Im Framing 👷🔨 Or when it warmer an a lighter pair of rubber boots will making my chores in mud easyer.. I dont cut 👨‍🏭 steel 👷 or weld or use a hot saw wearing my Boggs.. I lace up my leather work boots boots 👢 When im logging I take my warm Boggs off ..an put on my steel toe steel plated logging boots 👢 that cost a bit over $500 .. The secret to life is to know how to dress for the job your doing..I wear a size 18 boot ..Boogs an Dunlop are 2 of a very small pool of mens work wear providers that cater to the everyday wooking man Some men I know Buy MUCK BRAND.. Those boots are a sad joke ..they are for girly men who dont demand much from a pair of dependable footwear.. Also if your pull on boots 👢 are to small of size, you will eat out the heel fabric of the boot ...go get fitted with a scale... An two socks maje it difference in winter Boots ..change em 🧦 through out the day ...an alow your boot insides to dry will you sleep THE only thing I truely HATE about Boggs an cheap Muck brand dies it too... Is use cheap black pannty hose for the boot uppers.. What a stupid engineering joke .. Any small abrasion Will tear them 🙇‍♀️ This malfunction desperately needed to adressed... Useing a thickers high tread count strong woven nylon would easly take care of this idiotic proplem... Other wise 🙆 Bogg makes a good deep cleated waterpoof boot 👢 Good to Minus temperatures 🌡 🥶 A pair of BOGGS WILL save your feet from frost bite ☃️ an amputation 🔪 Real work boots 👢 For men who 💪work 🤠

I recently bought a pair of Bogs Madras boots and whilst they are extremely comfortable to wear, they are absolutely useless on mud! No traction whatsoever! I use them every morning when I go on a 4 ish mile walk with my neighbour. Whilst I’m slipping (and swearing!) my way along the trail he’s flying ahead in front in his £15 Dunlops! No issues at all. The tread design on the Bogs is so bad it’s ridiculous. My next pair of boots will be Dunlops.
