Lexington made the right call with the planes, remember when the ship goes down the planes have a limited amount of fuel so they only get 2-3 min before the planes fall out of the air

Yeah, I am pretty sure someone in WG argued for the fuel limit in part to prevent very clever carrier-players from just permanently scouting ships the whole game like they used to in the original CV mode. I can remember the misery of being a DD player with a squadron always hovering within 5km of me the entire game, never able to shake them.

NOOOO. Lexington could have spotted the DD since it's very close to him AND it's AA is not as powerful as Cerebeus AND Mecklenburg. Unless the Cerebeus and Mecklenburg are one shot kill. You don't go after them unless you want to throw your planes away. Also the CV lacks situation awareness to begin with. sitting right out there when the DD is obviously capping just a stone throw away.

This battle is a testament to how much impact the ScoreTimer mod has in this game. If the teams had just known whether or not they each would have won, the end would have gone so much differently. That mod is seriously powerful, as long as somebody is running it.

@@Heatx79 I mean, the WoWs ModStation exists. It's an official WoWs program that allows you to add mods to your game, all mods on that program are fully supported and won't get you banned I agree though, some mods like that should really be just in the game from the offset instead of a mod

The fact that everyone in the final act played a good game, made some decisions that in hindsight could be analyzed - but in the heat of the moment were rational - this made it all the more enjoyable.

That was a really good game to watch. That Vermont's positioning was excellent! They worked as a team efficiently and communicated with each other superbly well for an online game. It's so refreshing and a pleasure to watch when people work towards a common goal. Despite loosing, it was still a very entertaining replay to watch. And of course expertly narrated. 😉

No good plan survives contact with the enemy. I think we must give credit to the Somme and Cerberus players here too, for accurately predicting where the Yamato would most likely go and then never letting go of their prey once they got sight of him. He probably intended to help the Anhalt out and may realized too late he better had gone north. Either way, cliffhangers like these where both teams do well are the finest to watch imho. That throw was 100% on the Yamato. If he had gone straight for the cap and got killed, at least he would have stopped it from generating points for a time even if he didn't actually cap it. Instead he separated from the Missouri, pussyfooted around the cap, first going south, then sliding west, contributed nothing, and ended up getting killed at the worst possible time. The way that turned around right at the end was a heartbreaker. Nitrous broke his back carrying and still ended up with a defeat snatched from the jaws of victory.

Counterpoint, I think there's an argument to be made that Nitrous messed up by going north instead of charging the enemy and taking A, using the radar to either kill or scare off the Somme. At the very least, I think it's unfair to blame the Yamato for not being able to keep up with a ship that started several kilometers away and that's 6 knots faster, don't know what Nitrous was expecting.

Not sure the Yamato made the wrong call, honestly. As the final points totals demonstrated, in the absence of any further kills, the enemy would have won, and the Yamato had no way of knowing the Mecklenburg would give itself away and get killed. Heading towards where he knew the enemy was to force an engagement, while risky, gave them a chance to get kills and take the lead.

Additionally, had he actually listened and followed missouri, he'd leave the cap for enemy DD to flip. When Jingles was all puzzled what Yamato was doing, I was thinking he is trying to position himself in a way to block the cruiser and DD from going for that cap.

I also assumed his zig zagging (when Jingles questioned why he was turning a couple of times) was due to him spotting torpedoes or simply knowing he was in torpedo range. We did see him dodge at least one set.

The Missouri going north was a tactical mistake to be honest. He was the only ship left in the battle who even had a chance to take on that DD and with luck find and kill it. He still had a charge or 2 on his radar, had plenty of HP left, plus a heal and was in a position to push the enemy away from the cap. The Yamato's only mistake was not being aggressive enough and zig-zagging more. If he pushed into the last enemy cap instead of almost going in circles, he could have stopped the enemy from gaining points and considering how the battle ended, even win the match even if he went down in the process.

Going after the DD would have been a terrible mistake. The DD could keep him spotted for the other two, even outside radar range, torp him and even island bait his radar. Going for the north cap was the right decision, if Yamato didn't act stupid it would have won them the match. Simply put, you don't go after a DD as a BB unless you don't have any better options

@@stefanocrosazzo3262 If the Yamato would have went north, the Meclenburg wouldn't have suicided and instead kept kiting or hiding. Additionally the DD would have taken the south cap making their victory more than certain since they had the points lead. Read the map and the situation first... Avoiding torps is easier than most think so long as you know what you are doing. I've done it multiple times in multiple BBs and I had it being done against me, again on multiple occasion. Yes, eventually you get hit, but that takes more than 1-2 salvos. To make matters more interesting, at the end of the battle the DD wouldn't have known if the Missouri had any charges left on the radar. He could play it safe and stay at range, or risk getting closer. But you can trick him into believing he is safe if you wait with the radar or seemingly focus somewhere else. But both Yama and Missouri going north would have 100% lost the match for them. That you can be certain of.

When you sent that message at about 14:13, you were already several kilometers ahead, and the Missouri is considerably faster. Keep in mind that I'm no expert, but I feel like the Yamato would be putting itself in a bad spot by following you, as it's likely too far behind to be protected by your radar, and it'd also make the Mecklingburg's life much easier as all three of you would be shooting from roughly the same angle. I don't think a win is more likely if you go west, as it's really impossible to know, but I also think it's unfair for anyone to say the Yamato threw the game.

Sinking subs may be what destroyers are for, but not so much in World of Warships. All the other ships can shoot at the subs, and hit them, or send an airstrike. To use it's depth charges, the DD has to catch and run over, or next to, the sub. At least WG has nerfed the close range damage of the subs torps.

I think the real thrower in this match was the Lexington for staying in a dangerous position until it was too late and he got sunk instead of paying attention to the development on the minimap and repositioning in time. If Yamato had followed Missouri, Somme still could have gotten into a position to intercept him with torps. This also might have put him in a place to spot Missouri to get shot at before the BB could finish capping. That would also lead to a loss.

This is an excellent game of throws. A throw is defined by losing a winnable situation by a very clearly distinguishable decision or event. Debriefing good players throwing a match is by far more entertaining than watching mouth breathing peasants fumbling along and getting slaughtered.

Don't know if the Yama made such a mistake to be honest. If he hadn't approached the cap the Mecklenburg probably wouldn't have revealed himself. Really good game regardless even tho I dont think it belongs in this series. There is a Trenlass video hopefully incoming which will most definitely qualify :-D

8:30 - since those ships are right between the trumpwagon and the cheesestate, angling against 1 would mean they'd angle against both... one gets the rear, the other gets the bow as they are right now, (at 8:40ish) they give broadside to both ships.

To be fair, reasoning behind Yamato-guy started heading towards A point might have been to block it and thus stop the enemy team from getting points. Like...some sort of backup winning strategy. I might have done the same in that situation. But man, this match was one prime example of how matches go lately. You have a small number of 1-3 players who try and carry the team. And then there's 10 Ralph Wiggums. You clean up 3/4 of the map with 1-3 players and while you're doing it, the "lemming train" that went the other way somehow gets stuck and killed one by one. You just can't carry these people anymore.

Na, if Jingles wants the most amount of Dislikes possible in a World of Warships video, just feature a replay with a Sub/CV Div. Just make sure to have called Homeland Security and the riot police before posting... Games like this are why I consider the mod Score Timer a must-have. The amount of times I've been able to stop myself, or teammates from rushing into a fight that isn't needed makes it so worth it.

I mean, the Yamato baiting the enemy shots out was not bad at all, but then he should have stayed behind that island. I guess he just did not compute the score. But by charging forward, he proved the Mecklenburg's decision to be right. Had they sunk the Yamato earlier, and Mecklenburg still getting sunk, the score would have been exactly the same, wouldn't it? So the Mecklenburg made the game winning decision here, depending on what could best happen. I appreciate the mindset of taking initiative in that situation. He rightfully betted on greed and incompetence.😄

I think where the game was thrown was when Missouri decided to steam north to capture B, instead of Northwest to Capture A. First, A was closer to capture. Second, with Missouri's radar, there would have been a better chance of defeating or at least deterring the dd from getting close enough to fire torpedoes. Third, even if the enemy ships opened fire to deny the cap, the Yamato and Missouri would have more than enough firepower between them to send the enemy ships to Davy Jones's Locker. If Missouri and Yamato steam to A, and Vermont continues to B, I think they would have had all the cap circles before the timer ran out, and in games this close, that could be decisive. That being said, I think that kind of calculation is hard to do under battle conditions. It's a mistake, but a forgivable one, because anyone could make it.

Three things, Even in a defeat, if you score leds than 900 points in a defeat, you screwed your team. Our protagonist team was arguably filled with those. However, the Vermont, Missouri and Yamato hoarding all theor health until the end of the gsme utterly screwed their team! They deserved to loose. Because while they were sitting in the back tsking little or no fire, their cruisers were doing ALL the tanking for them. Not to mention the only dd counter they had, was on those cruisers, so when the Yamato finds themselves in a fight or flight moment against a modified Jutland: he deserved it, in spades. Furthermore, regarding that I-56, pendingn ehat patch this was, he only got two charges of a surface ship detection consumable; I-56 was and remains the hardest submarine to play in the game. Once his cruisers have gone down, he hasn't the dive time (even with reserve battery) to evade any DD. And if that DD has any form of hydro (sour with WG for removing a historical and extremely accurate tactice) shotgunning (historically called "Down the Throat") was removed, that I-56 was reduced to that Somme's bitch for 30 seconds. The only thing the I-56 can do in an DD vs sub encounter is to surface stern first and duke it out with its single pop gun. Usually, the I-56's gun is best used to bait DDs into Gaslighting themselves for the cruisers or Rail gun BBs to spank. But here, gunning it out was his only chance. A chance wasted because the beefiest and best ships on his team, were camping the back, holdinf on to their health it's a shame because they would have stomped if the Vermont and Yamato wasn't so busy holding to all that health early to mid battle like an underground poler game. over the years I've found, that teams that share the most, win the most; nobody likes having a sib 50% win rate. Sub 50% players are all, selfish/greedy/snobby players; unless their computer's broken; In that case, they lost because they're too poor to win. I apologize for the rant. 07

Carriers used to be able to spot in Warships legends but not anymore. It shows the ship on the map but no one else can see it til it is actually surface spotted and it sucks so many games just me and the carrier and it sucks lol

not sure if this was necessarily a throw, but it was unwise for the Yamato to take on a DD like that. I get what he was probably thinking though - to get into the cap to prevent them from getting points, even a few seconds might have made the difference. Disappointing, yes. Heartbreaking, yes. A mistake, yeah. A throw, meh. At least he was taking a tactical approach, I think throws are just ppl derping & yeeting the game.

Technically it wasn't a throw. It was a point neutral exchange. If the enemy BB wouldn't have made the mistake of attacking, they would have lost anyway. Yama sinking or not at the end.

There are about 40 seconds from the time the Yamato appears to be breaking off from the path to the moment the first wave of torpedoes appear, he was definitely spotted at the time and had to take defensive maneuvers and keep moving. Would Jingles also call it a throw if he tried to keep going north and ate all torpedoes at once?
