Short-fuse armor piercing isn't that much of an advantage since it doesn't come with a reduction in fuse sensitivity unlike on f.ex. Minotaur and fuse sensitivity is tied with gun caliber and for a 14" gun the armor threshhold is 59mm, most overpens are simply due to the fuse not arming in the first place. It's only really an advantage against exceptionally narrow ships like Smolensk or extremely close ranges.

Semper Fidelis, my favorite flavor = purple. The concept of HMS Defence is curious. If this was an attempt at a battlecruiser towards the end of WW2 or even post-war years, 206mm would have been more than enough to deal with any surface threat from what was left of Axis forces or even from the Soviet Navy. But whatever the World of Warships team wants to do, nice replay from a fellow Marine.

Hello Jingles. I am a Marine as well. USMC Enlisted Weapons Instructor. I would like to lay to rest this 'meme' of Marines being too stupid to use crayons, and eating them instead. Personally, I have not eaten a crayon since I was about 4 years old. No. We do NOT eat crayons. We collect them for the Navy. They have to have SOMETHING to stick in the boilers! Paraffin DOES burn after all. I mean, come on... No Navy has enough personnel to use EAR WAX! It is my theory that the Navy use the crayons we collect to make ear plugs for the gunnery crews. Too bad they keep the damned stuff in when they go on liberty. Which explains why, when warned by marines not to do it, navy pukes keep on talking sass, until some Marine introduces them to the floor, deck, bulkhead, wall, or some other hard surface. chuckles lightly.... If you can't take it... don't dish it out JIngles.
