Remember when converting to Armstrong Traps, they have different size "footprint" so to say than Hoffman or Sarco brand, who use a more standard sizing. This is not an issue with most IVB (inverted Bucket) traps as the connection is on both sides and is strict in orientation but can be a bigger issue with the F&T (Float and Thermostatic) traps where some changes in the piping will be needed. The larger the trap size the bigger this issue can be, especially in areas where you are space restricted. Also keep in mind that if you later decide (and more importantly if a contractor decides for you) to goes back to another brand, these changes will have to be reversed. Chances are the contractor won't know this and will request additional funding to complete the job.
