The song you listen to when your trying to reconnect back all the broken pieces
@SaraCabanass Жыл бұрын
I'm currently in the bus heading home after a Bon Iver concert yesterday. The sun is setting and it's just the perfect scenario. Their shows always make me feel nostalgic, thinking about life and what not. It's the 3rd time. On the 1st concert I heard this song for the first time and it got stuck to my head. Everytime I hear it makes me burst into tears. The first time, 8 or 9 years ago I was very happy. Today I'm not, I'm passing by one of the worst phases of my life. And this hits differently. Yesterday concert was so uplifting. I think I'm closer to know now what I should do to move forward. Thank you Justin 🤍

Driving with my 2 toddlers... listening to youtube on bon iver repeats... this was the first time ive heard this duo cover... whatever it is. I start tearing up and thinking of my life... my 3 year old asks me in her cutest voice... “daddy why are you crying, are you hurting inside”? My response: no baby... daddy is just super elated... almost euphoric... Later explaining what these words meant...

This brings back memories from 5 years ago, when I was imagining my life 5 years ahead as I look out the bus' window.. I would listen to this song hopping back between for Emma forever ago, as I sit mindless and with no idea where I was going to get dropped off. They say nothing is perfect, but this performance is.

Mindfulness and meditation are demonstrably better for anxiety, PTSD, addiction, and other psychiatric disorders than benzodiazepines. Lots of people with mental health issue also have substance abuse issues because they haven't been taught how to properly use theses techniques. Combined with proper diet, cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior can actually train your neural responses and help with virtually any anxiety or trauma disorder. Thank you for putting this out ther Boiler Room, to anyone reading this have a good day!

i agree with the general direction of your comment (in that we are an over-medicated culture), but this is also a quite naive (and even a little disrespectful to people who suffer severe cases of a disorder). psychiatric disorders include several forms of depression or neurodevelopmental disorders that aren't taken care of with simply spirituality and meditation. these are actual illnesses where their brain simply functions differently than other people's and always will. these people need complementary medication to even function as a human being.

I do have an education in this field. I work as a addiction specialist under a doctor who specifically uses eastern medicine, and teaching mindfulness and meditation classes. There is actual research showing the benefits, It is better than most antiquated medicine used by doctors today. @staxstix Hey there! anxiety-haver here, hoping for good conversation. What do you think the balance is between representing meditation well and being respectful of people with severe versions of the disorder? Personally, I don't mind people being enthusiastic about these forms of self care - I think they have every right to be, given how effective they are for a looooot of people. And benzos carry substantial risks with them, do they not? I agree that maybe a healthy attitude towards treatment doesn't demean or look down on medication, but embraces it as a valid option. But I guess I worry - "disrespect" is a heavy word, and it's so very vital that these practices are shared. Curious what your thoughts are.
