I have some great memories at the Alec Kennedy shelter. Maybe it was the group I was hiking with who had all been together for many miles, or maybe it's because going SOBO it's near the beginning of that long Cumberland Valley stretch of the trail which is usually nice hiking in the summer. Also that particular shelter has a new-ish privy.

I was looking at your weather forecast and I am jealous. Lows in the 20's and highs in the thirties is perfect backpacking weather. No bugs, no sweat! Life is always better with a pack on your back and a down bag at night. Stay warm, eat lots of food and keep on hiking - we're all rooting for you.

Fun seeing you hike my local trails and trying to guess where you’re at. We were hiking at the Darlington shelter Friday, probably just missed seeing you. This week is going to be chilly. FYI there is basically no cell in michaux Forrest.
