just in case no one ever told you always put a lid on when you boil something, safes energy and goes faster. LOL
@ASFx26003 жыл бұрын
Yup, i am aware. Just didn't have a lid handy for the test. Thanks for watching.

But it's more fun to watch water heat up when you can see the stream and bubbles! 😀

Thx I didn't know that

I am learning energy conservation and my light bill is nothing like it once was. Only for bigger meals do I use my larger conventional stove top/oven (glad to have it but I use it wisely) :)

The metal of your pan looks about a half an inch thick😊 Something with thinner walls might've cut a couple of minutes off of your boil time😊
@Tex16802 жыл бұрын
one complete charge gives you about an hour cook time. Combined with freeze dried stuff you it would last about 2-3 days of camping

Thank you for this demonstration. I ordered the hotplate to use with solar generator.

Awesome so it would be less time and less wattage if boiled with a lid. I think i am buying this one burner so i can cook inside my car without harmful fumes. Thanks

I bought the exact same hot plates off of amazon and was wondering if this thing could power them. This video was exactly what i was looking for, Thank You!! Any chance if you know if a powertraveller solar panel is compatible with goal zero?
@ASFx26004 жыл бұрын
Glad you found it useful! Unfortunately i don't know much about the powertraveller solar panels though.

I'll second the lid suggestion - so much of your ability to quickly (and efficiently) heat/boil water is reliant on being a mostly closed vessel -- but vented around the edges of the lid for safety. I absolutely guarantee itll boil faster w/lid on.
@PRESTIGEANDCLASSIC2 жыл бұрын
That looks like a really good quality pan, if you wanted to cut the boil time down perhaps try a camping type pan as they are made from thinner metal. Good video, thanks :)

Would also help by putting a lid on the pot as well.

It maybe a good test. Gas would be faster. But it's not renewable. I'm wondering how much energy to cook a couple of hamburgers. Are how many hamburgers you can cook before you run out of power to run the hot plate. Thank good information.

A little late to the party but wanted to say thanks for the video! The search for a low wattage electric cook top continues hahaha! Seems like 1000watts is as good as they get....

It's best to use induction burner low wattage as low as 400 vs 1500

Nice to see the power source can handle it, but my gosh is there so much wasted power going on here. As if an electric burner wasn’t inefficient enough. Lol. Good video. Pop a lid on next time.
@ASFx2600 Жыл бұрын
Hah. Yup I’d definitely add a lid if I was going for max efficiency. But in this test I just wanted to see how the yeti would do with no lid.

Can’t believe here sitting watching water boil. 🤣 on a serious thought, I did not consider a waste of my 10 minutes. Actually I find it very helpful. I just bought the burner because it’s $13 at best buy, now I’m on a quest to get the Yeti Goal Zero and the “SOLAR” module.. - just to cook a $2.00 Sr McDougal Ramen 🍜 salurrrrp sarap!

Is it safe to saw only the 1000w generators can only run electric burners ? Do you prefer propane camping after your results with the generator n electric burner
@ASFx26003 жыл бұрын
I would not get much less than the 1000w yeti, because it has an inverter that can handle the power draw of an electric burner (1500w continuous, 3000w surge). Smaller units with smaller inverters may not be able to handle the initial burst and continuous power that burners draw, and you might trip the fuse. Most electric burners use 1000w-1500w of continuous power. I do like propane and butane too, but those fuel sources can run out. It's nice knowing i can charge the yeti with solar panels and have endless power as long as I have sunlight available
@bt4b44 жыл бұрын
Nice video ! Can you run other test on the Goal Zero ? Super helpful. Thanks, peacefrom510 .
@ASFx26004 жыл бұрын
Sure I could do more tests. Did you have anything specific you wanted to see?
@bt4b44 жыл бұрын
ASFx2600 any kind of electric draw test. Test how long to run a little fridge on a single charge. How long to fully charge the battery using each solar inputs. See how much faster that extra plug gains. Just a thought.
@tadbright23023 жыл бұрын
Use a lid, would boil faster.
@ASFx26003 жыл бұрын
Good point. You're right about that. Using a lid would probably knock off 1-2 minutes. I'd have to do another test to get accurate results.

Thanks for the review. Does the ESB-301BF have a lower power consumption on low and medium settings, or is it 1000W all the time? Thanks!
@ASFx26003 жыл бұрын
Good question. I haven't actually tried this because any time i want to boil water or cook something, i just put it on max heat. I'll try it next time and measure the results.

@ASFx26002 жыл бұрын
Not for this one, because the test was to see how long it would take to boil the water in a pot without a lid. Doing it with a lit would take a little less time.
