@danielcillie1856 Agrred Pollard can probably go on to the next RWC, if used properly. I do think it's not just about SFM, though. Libbok must be in the mix as well as Sacha. They both have something special. Yes we know Libbok is not a great clutch kicker, but the other parts of his game are aces! But those two rotating at 10, with Willemse as a more than useful third option, would be devastating! And then you have Pollard as well...

You earned my subscription just because of the OX nominee Initiative!!! Thank you!! For an Englishman to nominate a SA prop is something unheard of!! OX deserves it, he is the corner stone of the bok squad, him and Frans Malherbe!! Especially now that WR is on a mission to remove/depower the scrum from rugby and in doing so ultimately closing the door on the big men. OX getting the award would send a message to WR. Rugby is one of the very few sports that allows for all sizes, and with WR trying to nullify the scrum it will ultimately not be that way for long.

I was shocked that Cameron Hanekom wasn't picked, but Rassie has done far to much for SA Rugby for me to question him.
@john-louwmouton69152 күн бұрын
It is obvious why Hanekom was not chosen. It has got nothing to do with form or quality of player. He has hardly been part of the Springbok setup so he has no experience with their gameplan and structures. Rassie only selected 34 players so he wants a core experienced team going over that has at least been part of the setup for some time. There is not enough time for training before the tests. I have no doubt that Hannekom will be included in the first Springbok camp next year

Saw an interesting stat that historically, SA only blood new players during the incoming tests and almost never during the end of year tests. @Trenchwarsoldier-x5v2 күн бұрын
That’s a bullshit excuse, the squad on tour now largely won’t see a 2027 WC! They have seen 2 already and a lot of them are dead weight already! We were told in the previous tour that those excluded would tour end of year and incorporated into the new setup! Where’s Henko? Greene? Hanekom? Horne? and a good few others who have been performing with aplomb for 2 seasons already… Libbock over Hendrikse? It’s a political shit show by SARU and we all know why the selectors are doing it, much like the ASG deal that included control of school boy rugby as part of SARUs commercial rights. GTFOH it’s government interference and this will not last. It’s going to cause a breakaway as fans on the are not interested in government and SARU thinking it’s own SA Rugby. Rugby will go private up North and the Anglo Saxon English class in Cape Town and Durban can then go rub one out together with their insidious social democratic libtardery

DuPont hasn’t played an international game this year. He was playing Sevens. There is 0 chance he’s getting nominated. ‘Realistically’ as you put it, PSDT will win the award, and he should be heavy favourite too. Look at the panel that decides, it’s a mix of former players, they know it has to go to a South African or Irish player, no one else. The fact that the Springboks won the World Cup and had 1 player in the World 15 because it was decided before the final means the panel will be feeling pretty dimwitted for that, they will recognise PSDT considering that regret last year and his performance in the final even though it was last year, there is always going to be subconscious carry over of guilt and past performances in a player’s career to determine this award.

Ahh my brother as much as I love Ntlabakanye he has got another season or two to go before he can start to lay a claim. Hanekom is almost like Roos , not quite the finished item But in regards to Edwil I agree but who do you leave out . Mapimps is red hot , Moody is being groomed ...eish my bra the Boks got too many great players ...

Considering Wilco Louw, Trevor Nyakane, and Neethling Fouche all play tighthead prop like Asenathi, and also weren’t selected, you cannot say he was hard done by.

Awesome squad. Glad Ireland are not playing SA again. I foresee slaughter ahead in this autumn tour! An embarrassment of riches. Will be interesting to see how the Boks play away from home in tough stadiums like Twickenham.

I am very sad about Edwill van der Merwe being left out. He's been outstanding for the Lions

Thanks Tim, I would definitely put Willemse in the starting lineup.
