I know I’m commenting on a two year old video, but the scissors on the Swiss Spirit MX have that type of spring and they stay still when in use. P.S. love your videos mate, cheers!

I love my Bokerplus, have an Atlas and Tech tool mini 2, so obviously the same would go for Ruike/Sanremnu as they're basically the same. But both of these in reality are comparable to the Farmer X which is better. and more compact..I hardly ever need a corkscrew so discounting that, I'm more likely to need a can opener though albeit occasionally...and anyway I use the Vic can opener as a Phillips SD far more than opening cans, and I just wouldn't want to use that Boker weird angled belt cutter thing as a screwdriver...and finally it's much bigger and chunkier than a Farmer X. But it does have a belt clip. I did look at these and had found one second hand but unused at a good price, less than I paid for my Farmer X, but I still opted for the Farmer X despite the steel not being as good and it having no beltclip. Honestly I don't find the Victorinox steel as bad as people make out as far as edge retention is concerned.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKiuiXeYZ5qBl8k I bought an LD51-b and modded it to include a toothpick and straight pin, also reset the plier river to eliminate the excess play.. but in the end, I found it inferior to the Victorinox. Don’t get me wrong, It was good, and a few things were better than my SAK (one hand open, g10 scales, easy to mod and a belt clip). It wasn’t as smooth as my SAK, the scissors were inferior… the pliers moved when closed as a function of its spring, the Philips head was over polished and lacked sharp edges and even the bottle opener was off on its geometry and didn’t work well…. So I sold it and bought a red farmer X I still like it, I just wish it was a little better than it was…

I have the Sanrenmu SRM WA751-A1 and the SRM 741-A1 (it does not have a saw) and they are very similar to the Ruike, but with the size of the Boker, also the Boker has a different finish on the handles, and as you say the quality of steel must be better. Excellent tools, a little bulky but nothing out of this world, a different touch from the Victorinox ones. But for 17 dollars that I paid for each one of them, I can't complain about anything. Greetings.

When pressure is applied to the torsion bar its storing a twisting energy the scissors are flipped so the opposing forces that's fight back when the scissors are closed are going in opposite directions between the 2 ..ones fighting with the backspring of the knife the other isn't..but you might be able to modify the shape to the point that it might not matter and that will stop it too as long as the arm of the scissors takes more force to move then tension bar stores. ...thank you for the upload I always enjoy your videos

Next I'm going for the Victorinox 111mm Workchamp. It has a metal saw and file that I use allot. It's the perfect set of tools for me. I'm ordering a set of black scales for it since I dislike the red altogether. Wish I could find a blue set in stock. Good videos tho, I've been watching many of them.

Nice review. I considered Boker aka Ruike aka whatever name there is also for it, but they didn’t have version with Philips screwdriver. They had but it was discontinued, probably by French and similar countries that are drinking wine a lot, which turns out to be true also with Victorinox. Other than that the weight was considerably bigger than Victorinox has. That one handed opening blade I don’t think it is anything important in other cases than fighting for your life. Shape of the blade is strange for me and I prefer much better not so much rounded that part in the tip area , again Victorinox wins. Also missing more normal flat screwdriver substitute like Victorinox has can opener, not mentioned small flat screwdriver on Handyman. Saw is nice but after having metal file in the first place. However I admit Boker looks great and if number of functions is satisfactory than it’s good choice and quality. Over years I carried Tinker I slightly regret that I didn’t use at least Tinker Deluxe since I now carry Handyman in front pocket without any problem.

@maxlvedc Check out the Ruike M51 and the Ruike M61. The scissor is entirely different on these models despite being the same size. The M61's scissor is like the LD42B's. Also they have the toothpick unlike the Boker.

I own the LD51, I like it better than my Victorinox Handyman but I need a file. And if I want a file I am forced to get the smaller M61 with a 2.7" blade while the LD series is 3.25". They need to make a LD61 because that would have everything I need. I also like the pocket clip on the ruike compared to victorinox. I looked at the Bokers but wasnt overly impressed with the setups and options.

I actually just picked up the Boker Tech-Tool 7 when you posted about it a few days ago. I prefer the smaller size mainly because I don't need as big a knife, since I'll almost always be pairing it with one of my folding knives. The Ruike just seems like it would be too big, especially when I'd still carry another "main" blade.
@maxlvledc2 жыл бұрын
In that case you probably make the right choice.

One for the outdoors and one for EDC
@Deibodese2 жыл бұрын
A few months back, I was looking for an EDC outdoor multi tool for use in the garden. I have worked as a groundskeeper in the past, so I wanted something that could do a number of different kinds of pruning tasks. I looked over both of these models quite a bit, but ultimately settled on the Victorinox Fieldmaster, which is the Huntsman with a Philips driver in place of a corkscrew. I’m very happy with the Fieldmaster. Are there some things I wish it had? Sure. Does it have tools that rarely, if ever, get used? Sure. But out of everything available on the market right now it seems to be the best performer. Have you done cut tests with the saws? I’d be very curious to see how well they perform next to Victorinox’s saw.

Would not the larger compare more to the victorinox soldier or one hand trekker even though those models don't have the scissors, there is the saw, locking screwdriver, one hand opening and locking blade at a much larger size compared to the 91mm sak models.

@@maxlvledc yes, there are sak models that have the scissors but not with the same configuration as the ruike you presented and the one hand trekker has the Phillip's instead of the corkscrew, one work around I've used in the past is carrying a vic classic on my keychain, I think you've touched on doing just that in past videos where you were highlighting a multitool with no scissors.

Ruike and Boker ..... If the manufacturer replaces the scissors, and when assembling the knife, a remote washer is installed under the clasp ring (the ring roughly scratches the tool next to it), then Victorinox may close its production.
