Argentinian here 😀 First of all, I love your channel and have followed it for years now. Regarding whether it’s offensive or not to call us “Argies” as you were discussing at the beginning, I’m 53 and I don’t find it offensive at all. I always took it as a friendly word, similar to saffas, kiwis, Aussie. But I know some of my countrymen (erroneously I think) interpret it as offensive and somehow relate the word to the Falklands/Malvinas conflict. However, I think 90% of us have no issue with the term. Cheers

What makes you the cornerstone of justice? I'm not Afrikaans I'm out of the "culture of Springboks". I'm English but I'm sure you think same thing right? Depending on where in SA you from. Am I less African or South African my family coming in early 1800s than someone who is born in China but is black. And why is that? So why does a word "Springboks" hurt you? Thankyou for eloquently articulating what I’ve been witnessing as a hardcore wallaby fan for over a decade, especially regarding NRL pathway eating up Union talent. The pathway you described is exemplified in Angus Crichton! Many more… I’d like to add that there is general hostility from NRL fans in Aus towards union fans generally, so test match losses leave us ridiculed at home and abroad, which is a lonely experience for myself. The NRL are really holding us back from having enough player depth in this region, and on their path of aggression, the ABs and Islands will suffer too!
@thewielloyd9887 күн бұрын
Yeah the animosity towards Union and our national team from League fans is ridiculous. Bloody Un-Australian too. Really turns me off NRL, a game I used to not mind watching. See how well Nawaqanitawase did on Friday. I’m actually surprised VLandys doesn’t see value in trying to own both games and see them prosper. If anyone could turn Union into a cash cow in Australia it would be the guy who runs Racing and the NRL: Union is basically League for a Racing crowd.

"Joiner" refers to Afrikaners that joined the British during the Anglo-Boer war. Basically it means traitor. Another word was "hensopper" which literally means hand-upper, because they surrendered to the enemy and joined them. The opposite would be the "bittereindes" because they vowed to fight against the British until the "bitter end."
@colinforbes95393 күн бұрын
The above explanation for Mark being called a 'Joiner' is without doubt what was being referenced . The Anglo Boer war 1899-1902 was indeed a bitter one ( introduction of concentration camps / scorched earth policy ) . A boer 'Burger' changing sides and fighting for the British against 'his own people' , was a Joiner - despised by his own . The wobbly context of calling Mark out for 'joining' is a bit cockeyed . But meant obviously in jest . Probably not a case of "too soon" since this took place about 125 years ago .

To answer your question, Mark, yes, I always felt we would take the game at the end. It’s because of the faith we have in our bomb squad - knowing that an even stronger team is going to finish the game off. And what’s with naming 3 vice captains in the team lists? We know that there are a few leaders within a team, but they know who they are, no need to tell the world.
@bg3657 күн бұрын
I’m not sure that the Springboks are better than the AB’s. They managed to get the edge by a few points over two games, but there was very little in it. But for the bounce of the ball, or a kick or two, it could have been 2-0 to NZ. The top teams are very closely matched. Any of SA, Ireland, NZ, France or England can knock each other over. Even Argentina, who aren’t in the top 5 are good enough to beat the top guys. Same for Scotland or even one of the Pacific teams. SA supporters need to calm down. They’re playing well, but things can change very quickly.

That's the rule and the way it's being blown . Regardless of whether we like that interpretation . (2) Tyrel clearly and deliberately moves his upper body to the left to impede Cheslyn's run . The sort of thing a tighthead ( who has had a GREAT game , both scrumming and in loose play ) will do if he's already emptied the tank 70 mins into a game . Shoulda had fresh legs on the field . "Joiner" is a derogatory term originating from the Anglo-Boer war used for Dutch settlers AKA Boers who not only surrendered (like the group called hensoppers from hands-uppers) but started fighting on the British side. So as a South African and a Springbok supporter, if you are a 'joiner", welcome to the family.

One of my observations why NZ are loosing more frequently is that the refs are not letting them get away with as much as they used to in the past.

Pom doesn't derive from that bud, it comes from the fact the people on board transportation ships on their long voyages would be prone to outbreaks of disease, the 'criminals', were fed pommegranites in order to prevent scurvy which was common at the time. Good show fellas. Cheers, Mike 🏴

If we picked wingers who could catch the high ball than we would probably have won that game, because of that it gave the Boks a chance to gain penalties to get into our 22. The Boks have always had great scramble D so no tries is nothing new in the biggest games. Nevertheless this is good for NZ Rugby as the public has taken our Rugby dominance for granted. Once we fix this we may be back in love with the game again.

One thing in the freedom cup. It’s never really competitive as it favours the holding team. It shouldn’t be decided by whoever wins both games with the holder keeping it on a draw. In the event of a 1-1 series it should be done on aggregate score. Saying that, the Freedom cup to become the “new” Bledisloe?

There was never a time that I thought it was a given SA would take it., and Tony's getting over it. Sounds quite sincere.

Few years ago i was telling my "bird" how great this channel was and showed her a video. You were wearing an English jersey. She said "i thought u said he was a New Zealander? Why's he wearing an English jersey?" Me: "he wears everyone's jerseys. He always wears the winners jersey afterwards" Her "even if someone beats NZ?" Me "yup" Her "thats alright so" 😂😂😂 TLDR: fuck that other irish fan!

As a Bok supporter, I think you guys are missing Muanga A LOT!!! DMac just can't manage and control a game like him! Change the rule and bring him back, and you'll see a massive difference!

SA bok supporters are exactly the same with the expectation to win and always have been. There was even a viral video in SA going around when the boks were at their worst around 2016-2017 were guys where burning their jerseys on the braai. But reality is different, sometimes the best laid plans come to naught, I just hope for the ABs sake it doesn't take 2 decades to right the ship.
