Sadly didn't get to see any of the games, and came here after leaving a pointed comment on URC hilites channel-it is woeful, well below temp intern quality. My theory is it's all done during BYCTW day… by the child. Leinster best team, Glasgow and Munster the form sides, Stormers & Bulls always a danger, and the next 3 to make playoffs will be good enough to capitalize on whatever luck decides this year's playoff lottery. The best team hasn't won URC so far, so no reason they will this year either-most others are good enough to capitalize on a below-strength lineup.

Fair enough rankings table. Obviously, we all know that Leinster are trying to balance the Champions Cup and URC so lost a few games recently which they would win handy enough if they were full strength. Its what they need to do. I expect them to dish out a spanking to Toulouse in Wembley and cannot see anyone denying them the double in the URC also. I was at the Munster v. Connacht game. Lovely weather, nice crowd and a decent enough first half. But, once Munster got going Connacht had no answer. Carthy's kicking was awful. Crowley on the other hand was very good again. I'd love to see Connacht finish in the top 8 but its going to be tough now. I think that the URC is here to stay and will grow in popularity. I haven't seen the highlights on their website, but hopefully they tune in to TC and take it on board !

I think the law changes are good, I've been hoping for this exact law change for over 10 years now (for as long as I watched rugby) Rugby fans don't get complain, the day average club rugby teams average above 30k is the day you can say something, the attendance and tv views are horrible across all leagues, and very few international teams draw large crowds, even baseball does better, even soccer in China or USA draws larger crowds than Rugby

Don't panic mate, you shouldn't be able to take a scrum in the situation like Willemse's, that slows the game down making it more like NFL when they set for the snap at every end of play. Rugby was going overboard and having a scrum at every opportunity.

When you take a minute to think about it rationally, changing the rugby laws because you're unhappy with the way certain teams play the game is absolutely ridiculous. It is so unethical. And the rule changes are complicating our wonderful game. And besides all that, World Rugby claims they're trying to improve the experience for fans, how do they know they're doing what fans actually want?? Judging by what I've read and seen online, they're actually doing the opposite of what most international fans want to see.

Have there been many rule changes since 2019?? I only watch during the World Cup and I was just as long in 2023 as i was in 2019

Thomond park as a Munster fan for the round 16 match against Connacht was great. Simon Zebo recently has been playing his best rugby in years and is even taking down and outrunning players far younger than him.

I agree with previous comments. They can change the laws all they want to work against the Springboks strong points, it wont matter. We will still be the greatest. Scums and lineouts are important for all the technical reasons but also important is that at this stage, rugby makes provision for all the different builds of players, tall giants , short and stocky, smaller and nippy, etc. otherwise they will all look the same and certain "type" of player will be left out. Go Springboks!!

I think the issue with the highlights is the channels try and get them out in 30 mins or less. But some of them are so bad they give me whiplash.

It's going to be an interesting run in, but I have a sinking feeling as an Edinburgh fan. Frustration at our extensive injury list, and, as much as he's a good guy and a fantastic servant to Scottish rugby, the constant starting of Ali Price ahead of Ben Velacott is baffling. The minute Ben comes on we look like a different team, and the back line starts firing. Great player, really offers something different at scrum-half, but the Scotland setup seem to deem him too small, so he doesn't get a look-in. But then I suppose it's easy for us fans to coach a team from the stands. 🤣

The league does a lot well and are very proactive in improving the fan experience but the highlights they put out are terrible. Its definitely an area they need to address.

URC highlights on the Glasgow Bulls game they had the tries in the wrong order, showed the Glasgow try in 63 mins before the Bulls 55th minute try

Back in the 1980s, the NFL decided to grow their audience in the UK by giving Channel 4 a free highlights package. They did a weekly show on the lines of the BBC's soccer highlights show Match of the Day, where they showed extended highlights of one game, a bit of tactical analysis in the studio and short highlights of all the rest, and rotated what teams got the extended highlights. At the end of the season they showed the Super Bowl live. It was a great way to get into the sport, you got a good overview of the league, all the teams and their best players. I'd love it if rugby could do something similar. Maybe alternate between the URC, the Top 14, the Premiership and Super Rugby for the extended highlights. Get Squidge to do the tactical analysis. I'm lucky in a way as an Ulster fan, because Ulster do their own extended highlights videos on their KZbin channel. The highlights of the game against the Scarlets are over 16 minutes long and show not just the tries, but some of the other pivotal moments like breaks, penalties, and Cormac Izuchukwu's first-half hat-trick of held up try attempts, but they're naturally a wee bit one-sided. We'll get a clearer idea of Ulster's progress under Richie Murphy over the final two weeks of the regular season. Leinster at home, Munster away.

As a life-long supporter of the Lions I am of course devastated to see my team languishing in 10th spot on the log, with top dogs Warriors and Stormers awaiting them in the last two rounds. Edinburghs lack of effort in gaining try scoring and losing bonus points has cost them. Makes me wonder if they ever want to win anything or are they content just to be a training team for Scotland. Just compare with the Warriors.

I'm pretty sure they are using an AI for the highlights.. obviously not there yet but I'm sure as data gets better the AI will get better at putting together the highlights. Over time AI will be used to do analysis/stats parts of rugby too, don't be surprised if that's being used by time next World Cup roles around.
